On Saturday 22nd August, a fleet of Thames Barges will be sailing into the River Crouch, dropping anchor on the north side of the river, near Burnham Beacon in the afternoon.

The fleet will include:

Cambria
Edith May
Lady Daphne
Marjorie
Ironsides
Edme
Pudge

This will be the first time that a fleet of this size of Thames Barges will sail into the Crouch for many years, with boats taking part in an informal race from the Medway to Branklet Buoy.

It is expected that most boats will depart the following morning on the morning's tide.

Mariners are kindly requested to navigate with care and caution in the vicinity of the barges particularly when they transit through the Burnham Fairway.
