SWM trials clutches !!!! - possibly the worst aspect of the bike, either extremely heavy and difficult to use or slips in high gears.
Most of the time this is due to either incorrect adjustment or wrong plates.
We are referring here to the TL 240/280/320 trials motor….the correct plates should be 6 x friction plates at 3.5mm wide, 5 x 1mm metal plates and one 1.5mm metal outer plate. This gives a stack height of 27.5mm…..if yours is higher than this figure, the clutch action will be very heavy…..we now have the correct genuine Rotax friction plates and correct size metals available.
Incorrect adjustment….slacken off your cable at the handlebar, access the central clutch adjuster screw via the right side plastic b**g in your clutch cover. Adjust it until it just touches the friction plate, take up the cable slack at the handlebars and try it. Also keep the clutch cable routed as loose as possible and down the right side of the frame.
