Customer complained that the vehicle had very poor road manners especially when cornering. We found the rear suspension track arm bushes had separated allowing the rear wheels to move around causing the issues, 2 nice new genuine arms and associated fixings replaced followed by a 4 wheel alignment to get it driving straight again. This vehicle is also fitted with advanced driver assistance systems ADAS so has lane keep assist and emergency brake assist where a camera looks at the road ahead to keep an eye out incase it needs to intervene in case of emergency so once all the mechanical repairs are carried out we then need to carry out a short road test and align the ADAS camera for safe future operations.

Crikey got myself all excited then for a moment that the DVSA had finally come to their senses and aligned the mot test fee with how much everything else has gone up around it, wages, calibrations, mot equipment costs, accounting fees and so on. But nope it’s not to be, just more paperwork and unloading some of smaller stuff from there workload onto the rest of us. Cheers for that 🤦🏻‍♂️

So these are the results of a well used freelander 2 we have had in this week, we noted on its service a few months ago that corrosion was becoming an issue and would need addressing. The customers were great and took the active decision to get on top of it before it became a real issue. We replace the rotten rear subframe and suspension arms, cleaned out the rear wheel arches, floors and sill area before applying a rust converter treatment then several layers of black dinitrol underbody protection then built back up with new rear shock absorbers and rear brakes to really keep this great vehicle on the road for many years to come. This active approach to maintenance is far easier to manage rather than reactive repairs that can be a real big shock when you’re least expecting it.

Attention Discovery Sport owners, due to Mrs S deciding to swap her much loved Discovery Sport for a Discovery 5 I have a full hight dog guard and quilted boot liner available as these will be removed before it gets traded in. These are genuine Land Rover accessories so are fantastic quality and fit.
