To all that need us,
Garages have been deemed an “essential service” by the government, which means we will continue to remain open as usual until otherwise instructed.
This comes after the Prime Minister said yesterday that brits will only be able to go outside for food, health reasons or essential work. For a large amount of us this will require the use of your vehicle to do so.
The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has stated that car and motorbike owners will still need to get their MOT done when it's due, although this position is under review with an update expected in the next few days.
All necessary precautions will be taken when working on your vehicles, including a full disinfection of all contact surfaces before work commences and another full disinfection when all work has been completed and the vehicle no longer requires physical contact from our staff. All work will be carried out with the use of a face mask and gloves will be changed for each individual vehicle to stop all chances of cross contamination.
As always we are still offering a collection and return service from both Chard and Axminster. However during this time we can only offer this service at limited intervals so please call for availability.
In all aspects of our work we will be following the government recommended 2 meters (6ft) from all our customers, this means hand over of keys and such items will be carried out with zero direct contact. Our waiting room will be limited to 1 customer at a time, first come first served. If you plan to drop your car to us yourself and would like to wait for your vehicle, we would advise you take the time away from the premises as your 1 form of exercise for the day while you wait.
For more information please call us, we are happy to help with all enquiries and will endeavour to meet all your requirements in these hard times we face.
From all of us here at AB Autos, stay sensible, stay safe and stay positive.
