🔧 Renault Master – Starter Motor Replacement 🔧

This Renault Master came into the workshop with a starting fault.
Following diagnosis, we traced the problem to a faulty starter motor. The old unit was removed, a replacement starter motor fitted and the vehicle tested to make sure everything was operating as it should.

✅ Fault diagnosed
✅ Starter motor replaced
✅ Starting system checked
✅ Vehicle tested and back on the road

🔧 Renault Master – Timing Belt Replacement 🔧

Another Renault Master in the workshop for an important bit of preventative maintenance – a timing belt replacement.
The timing belt is one of those components you really don’t want to leave too long. If it fails, the resulting engine damage can turn routine maintenance into a very expensive repair.
With many horseboxes built on Renault Master chassis, keeping on top of the vehicle’s service schedule is just as important as looking after the horse area.

⚠️ MOT Defect – Suspension Helper Springs
Someone had previously cut down the rear rubber suspension helper springs on this 3.9-tonne vehicle, leaving the rear suspension unable to operate as originally designed.
Identified as a defect before the MOT, we removed the modified components and fitted the correct replacement helper springs.
✅ Correct suspension travel restored
✅ Rear axle support restored
✅ Vehicle rectified ready for MOT
✅ Suspension once again capable of supporting its design axle weight
On a 3.9-tonne vehicle, suspension components aren’t something to modify or take chances with. What might look like a simple piece of rubber plays an important part in supporting the vehicle when loaded.

We carried out a turbo replacement this week after the original turbo suffered a snapped shaft.

When a turbo fails like this, it's never just a case of bolting a new one on. To give the new turbo the best chance of a long life, we carried out the essential checks and preparation, including inspecting and cleaning the intake system, changing the engine oil and filter, checking the oil feed and return, and ensuring everything was free from contamination before fitting the replacement.

Taking shortcuts on a turbo replacement can lead to another failure very quickly. Doing the job properly saves time, money and frustration in the long run.

If your vehicle has lost power, is smoking, making unusual turbo noises or showing signs of turbo failure, get in touch before it becomes a bigger and more expensive repair.
