Over 130 people through the doors for a special VIP night. Two of the rarest Porsche in Britain on the floor. And a Porsche Centre that, for one night, didn't look much like a Porsche Centre.

Porsche Lates was the first ever held inside a Porsche Centre, and we are thankful that Porsche Cars GB chose us to host it.

An evening built around the thing Porsche and everyone in the room have in common: craftsmanship, and the choice to have something made your way. Contemporary art from Castlegate House Gallery in Cockermouth, including new work by Cumbrian artist Craig Simpson. Fine jewellery and watches from Jopsons Jewellers in Carlisle. Flowers by Love Lily Floral Designs, cocktails by Mix & Twist, Music by the amazin String Infusion and the sound and lighting handled by 1 media Ltd.

Two cars anchored the night. The 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition, one of just 51, in Earls Court Green, marking 75 years of Porsche in Britain. And the one-off Taycan Turbo S Soho House One in satin Greek Street Green. We were the first Centre in the country to have both under one roof.

The rest of the floor belonged to our customers, who trusted us with their own cars for the evening. That's the bit we won't forget.

Rebecca's added something to the run-up this year. From now until Friday 25 September, 15% of every lifestyle shop purchase in Centre goes to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Then the morning itself. Georgia, Julie and Rebecca are hosting our Macmillan Coffee Morning at Junction 35, and it's an open door, coffee, a slice of something, a donation box by the counter. No booking, no list, no need to ring ahead.

Georgia has also been quietly working her way through the local business community for raffle prizes, and some of them are far better than a coffee morning has any right to expect. We'll reveal them over the next few weeks.

Bring a colleague, bring a client, bring an appetite.

Green is a bold colour on a big car, and this one earns it. Oak Green Metallic on a Panamera reads almost black from a distance, then opens up into something much warmer as you walk around it. Photographs genuinely don't do it justice, which is a slightly awkward thing for us to say underneath a video of it.

Big respect to Lauren, one of our team here at Porsche Centre South Lakes, who's been steadily helping us work through the Wainwrights Challenge, all 214 Lake District fells in a single year, in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

It's a serious test of endurance, and honestly, it's the kind of thing that reminds us what we're proudest of here isn't just the cars on the showroom floor, it's the people, and the causes they choose to back.

A hundred years of the Nürburgring deserves a proper tribute, and Porsche has just built one.

This special-edition 911 GT3 is dressed for the "Green Hell" from top to bottom: historic circuit badging on the wings, a green roll cage inside, door sills that light up with "Welcome to the Green Hell," and even a projector that throws the Nordschleife's outline onto the floor when you open the door. There's a walnut gear k**b for the manual cars, gold-finished wheels, and, for anyone tempted to actually use it, an optional Manthey aero kit good for 540kg of downforce.

Only 100 are being built, for the German market, so this one's a look-but-don't-order situation for us here in the Lake District. Still, it's the kind of car that reminds you why the Nürburgring and Porsche have been linked since 1953, and why that connection still shows up in every 911 that leaves our showroom today.
