As some of you might already know, from July 2026 I started a new company which incorporates Motobambino. I will still be offering the same services as before for customers with classic small Fiats, but going forward I want to open the workshop doors to all makes and models of cars.

Restoration is what I am passionate about and over the past 35 years I have restored many different types of cars, which I hope to show examples of over the coming weeks.

The project in the photos is a current car I have in the workshop. It is a 1955 Fiat Topolino which we are carrying out a full body restoration on, new floors, sills etc...

Another day, another engine out!

This is a Fiat 500L which has developed a popping on start up, it turns out after a bit of investigation that it has had Helicoils fitted to the exhaust fl**ge on the head and one of them has given up this means the exhaust wasn't sealing on that manifold. So cylinder head off to have some new proper inserts fitted and a skim. I thought I'd check out the timing chain while the engine is striped.

Second test drive of the day!!

This 1970 Fiat 500 Giardiniera, for all its misshaped bodywork and rattles and creaks, believe me it really rattled, drives really well.

33 mile round trip done, plenty of stopping and starting and she never missed a beat.

I guess this is what we love about old cars!

At the workshop today!!

We are carrying out engine work on the Fiat 500 Giardiniera, including a new timing chain and thermostat.

The white Fiat 500L is starting to come back together, all the glass went back in yesterday.

Just starting to strip the bodywork on the 1955 Fiat Topolino ready to start on replacing the floors and sills.
