With profound sadness we announce the passing of Howard John, the Founder and Director of Howards.
Howard lived and breathed the motor trade for more than 65 years. He started our family business, along with his late wife Pat, in Llanelli in 1985, expanding to Carmarthen 2 years later.
He led with integrity and compassion, and those are the values we will endeavour to uphold in his name.
Family was everything to Howard. He was devoted to his daughters Laura and Adele, his son-in-law Walter, his beloved grandchildren Mili, Harri and Manon, and his step-grandsons Osian and Ioan.
Aside from business and family, Howard had one other great love… rugby!
More specifically, Kidwelly RFC. His love of the club began 50 years ago when he and Pat moved to Kidwelly. They made many lifelong friends through their support of their local rugby team. Howard thoroughly enjoyed his involvement with the club and was honoured to serve as Club President for a period of time. After taking time away to care for his wife Pat for a number of years, he was delighted to return to his favourite spot on Parc Stephens in recent years to support Laura’s stepson Ioan, who joined Kidwelly from Burry Port and quickly became a key player for the team. No-one was prouder than Howard when Ioan was announced as Team Captain.
Thank you Howard for everything. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Cysga’n dawel. 🕊️
