Sian, what an achievement! You should be incredibly proud of yourself. From the start of the summer holidays to today, you've put in the work, listened, practised and trusted the process — and now you have that beautiful little piece of paper in your hand! 🥹💕

It is such a privilege watching my learners grow in confidence and independence, and seeing that smile at the end makes every single hour behind the wheel worthwhile. 🥰

Even though I have a few days of lessons left I have decided to pop my 'out of office' on slightly earlier.

I have been super busy throughout the summer and I am literally crawling to the finish line.

I will be back from September 1st to help with any new queries and to answer any messages.

Lessons will also resume at that time.

Please do not be offended if you don't hear back from me immediately as I will be hundreds of miles away!

I honestly never expect anything in return for doing the job I love. Watching my learners grow in confidence, overcome their fears and finally achieve that little pink licence is more than enough reward for me. 🎉

So, when a learner goes out of their way to drop such incredibly generous gifts at my house, it genuinely means so much. It reminds me just how valued I am, and that sometimes the support I give goes far beyond simply teaching someone how to drive. ❤️

What a journey this has been for you… and what a way to finish it! 🚗💨🎉

Today, Ella passed her driving test — and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of her.

Ella came to me with very little confidence in herself. She had been through some difficult experiences during her learning journey and had reached the point where she genuinely believed that perhaps she couldn’t do it.

One thing that really stood out to me was how often Ella would say “sorry” — even when she had done absolutely nothing wrong.
She had become so used to questioning herself that she almost apologised for simply being there
And that broke my heart. 💔

So we started again.

Not just with driving — with confidence.

We worked on believing in herself, trusting her decisions, learning from mistakes rather than being frightened of them, and understanding that getting something wrong doesn't mean you're a failure.

With the incredible love and support of her family, Ella has completely turned things around.

And today… SHE ABSOLUTELY ACED IT! 🥹👏🏻❤️

Ella, please take a moment to realise what you have achieved. The girl who once doubted herself so much has walked into that test centre and shown exactly what she is capable of.

You were never incapable. You just needed someone to believe in you while you learned to believe in yourself.
I am SO proud to have been part of your journey. ❤️

📣.📣A message to drivers in and around Carmarthen...

Lately I've seen far too much impatience, aggression and outright abuse directed at learner drivers.

It's becoming all too common, and it needs to STOP 🛑

When you see a car displaying L plates with a professional driving instructor inside, please show a little patience and respect.

Keep a safe distance,
don't tailgate,
don't sound your horn because they stalled or braked unexpectedly,
and don't overtake dangerously because they're travelling below the speed limit while they're learning.

Every experienced driver was a learner once.

The person behind that wheel is often already nervous. One aggressive driver can knock their confidence for weeks, while one patient driver can make all the difference.

As a local instructor, I've had the privilege of teaching generations of Carmarthenshire families. I know many of the people on our roads, and I know that most drivers are kind and considerate. But to the small minority whose behaviour intimidates learners: you should be ashamed of yourselves. Your impatience doesn't make you a better driver—it simply creates unnecessary danger.

For anyone who thinks this behaviour goes unnoticed, my tuition car is fitted with high-quality front and rear dash cameras that record every lesson. Where I witness dangerous, aggressive or intimidating driving, I have absolutely no hesitation in submitting the footage to the police.

!!!! Road rage and careless driving have no place on our roads, especially when they put learner drivers at risk.

Please remember that today's learner could be your son, daughter, grandchild, friend or neighbour tomorrow.

Let's make Carmarthen's roads a place where people feel safe to learn, not frightened to make a mistake.
Be patient.
Be respectful.
Give learners the space they need to become safe, confident drivers.
