Don't "Delete" Your DPF - Clean it 💦

With the new PM testers arriving, removing a DPF is no longer a viable option. A removed DPF will result in an instant MOT failure under the new testing standards, as the machine will detect the millions of particles that a missing filter releases.

The introduction of Particle Number (PN) counters (often referred to as PM testers) is one of the most significant upcoming shifts in UK MOT testing, specifically targeting diesel vehicles.

These machines are incredibly sensitive. They can detect if a DPF has been removed, tampered with, or has internal cracks that are invisible to the naked eye.

The DVSA has been conducting trials of this equipment. While it has not been rolled out to every garage yet, it is widely expected to become a requirement in the near future

Metclean sets the industry standard for DPF maintenance.
