🏁 Race Report – Pembrey Round | Mini Challenge Clubsport

Qualifying
P3 Overall | P3 in Class
Qualifying showed strong pace from the outset as we worked hard on tyre pressures and geometry setup to suit the difficult grip levels around Pembrey.
We pushed on and secured P3 just before the red flag. Once the session resumed, traffic became a major factor. We were over a second up on our best lap and looked capable of challenging for pole position, but unfortunately got held up and scrubbed the lap.
Even so, starting from P3 put us in a great position heading into the races.
Race 1 🏁
We were excited to line up close to the front runners and ready to fight for a strong result.
Freddy Hewitt made an excellent launch off the line and we dropped one position early on, but James settled into the race well and managed the pace throughout.
A composed drive brought home our best result of the season so far:
P4 Overall | P4 in Class
Race 2 ⛽
Race 2 proved more difficult as we began suffering fuel wash in the tank through Debeni and Paddock. The long left-hand corners moved fuel away from the pump, causing intermittent power loss and costing valuable time.
Rather than holding up other drivers while managing the issue, James made the decision not to aggressively defend and allowed cars through where necessary before focusing on bringing the car home.
Despite the setback, we still secured:
P7 Overall | P6 in Class
Race 3 🔥
After diagnosing and resolving the fuel issue, we headed into Race 3 ready to attack.
A fantastic battle unfolded between James and Ian Trundley with close-quarter racing throughout and no contact — exactly the kind of hard, fair racing everyone loves to watch.
James pushed hard and continued to move forward, gaining a place from the previous result and bringing the car home:
P6 Overall | P6 in Class
Overall, Pembrey showed real progress for the team. Strong qualifying pace, our best finish of the season so far, and another weekend proving we’re moving in the right direction.
