❤️ A little reminder from Horizon…

Behind every small business is a real person, and at Horizon, we wear a lot of different hats!

Unlike the big main dealers, we don’t have endless departments or someone waiting in the wings to cover when life happens. We’re a small team, doing our very best to look after our customers, our staff and our families, all while keeping our little corner of the world turning.

Sometimes we’re answering calls from the side of a football pitch, squeezing work in between appointments, or juggling the unexpected. We have sleepless nights, work late, worry about the tough days and celebrate the little wins. That’s the reality of being self-employed! ❤️

We might not always have an immediate answer, we might ask you to call back in ten minutes, or occasionally miss your call. Please know it’s never because we don’t care. Quite the opposite! We’re often spinning several plates at once and doing our very best to get everything done.

That’s also the beauty of supporting a small business. You’re dealing with real people who care, who know their customers and who genuinely want to help.

🚨🔧 WET BELT SERVICE — DON’T WAIT UNTIL IT’S TOO LATE! 🔧🚨

Did you know that not all timing belts are the same?

Some modern engines use a WET BELT — a timing belt that runs inside the engine and is exposed to engine oil.

And they’re becoming increasingly common… but not every garage is equipped or experienced to carry out wet belt replacements.

💧 WHY ARE WET BELTS SO IMPORTANT?

A worn or deteriorating wet belt can start to break down, with belt material potentially contaminating the engine oil system.

If the belt fails, the consequences can be serious and potentially very expensive engine damage. 😬

That's why sticking to the correct replacement interval is so important.

⚠️ BUT HERE'S THE IMPORTANT BIT…

👉 Don’t assume your wet belt interval is the same as someone else’s.

Manufacturers can specify different intervals depending on the engine, model, year and driving conditions, and these intervals can also be revised or changed over time.

📖 Always check the latest manufacturer recommendation for your particular vehicle.

🔧 At Horizon Motor Group, we can help you check what your vehicle requires and carry out wet belt work where applicable.
