The RJR van had some love the other day it’s had a boost leak and a faulty glow plug since I’ve had the van, I only recently pinpointed the boost leak which was the inlet manifold, removing that gives you access to the glow plugs.

I’ve avoided them as they can snap, been as they were going to be right there I tried to remove them and I was lucky they all came out, I fit 4 new genuine Ford ones and cleaned up the cylinder head and egr valve of carbon build up before I fit a genuine inlet manifold aswell.

I try to schedule maintenance for the van before it scheduled it for me with a break down. It also had an oil change. Hopefully it returns more fuel economy than 29mpg.

BMW for an oil change

Ecosport for excessive handbrake travel, it was the auto adjuster ratchet not holding the adjuster wheel after I bent it to its correct place then cleaned and adjusted the brakes they worked perfectly.

Mokka boost leak repair, I smoke tested the inlet system and it revealed this split pipe I cane back and replaced it when I had the parts.

Ssanyong for an anti roll bar link the customer supplied. 📍codsall

Discovery sport for a wheel rotation when the customer booked in I asked why they wanted it doing they said uneven tyre wear so I recommend the rotation and tracking. When I checked it was quite far out of adjustment I adjusted it + greased it all up. 📍shareshill

Revive bodywork van, customer complained of a knocking on the back end, boy was he right the bush had disappeared and it sounded like a bag of spanner’s, I fitted a new shock absorber and it was quiet. 📍 shareshill

I haven’t had the time to do a post the last few weeks but here’s a few jobs I’ve been up to 👇

Renault for a new differential pressure sensor after 3 garages did a diagnostic check then refused to work on it 🤦 I diagnosed it and replaced the part the customer was happy to have it fixed. 📍shareshill

Vauxhall Astra for a sump reseal to fix an oil leak, I also change the oil filter while doing it as it was due an oil change anyway. 📍 burntwood

Alfa Romeo a truly well looked after classic it’s like new underneath!! It needed two front brake calipers the customer sourced the parts

The cooler temperatures have been a lot nicer to work in lately this is what I’ve been up to. 👇

Jaguar e pace for front discs and pads nothing had been advised on the mot yet the discs had a big corrosion lip on it 🤦🤦 I had to go get discs but the job was done right and that’s the important thing. 📍 Penkridge

BMW for front discs and pads that I picked up during a full service before the MOT, this had sided discs because they are specifically vented as standard 👌. 📍burntwood

Volvo for a major service, all went to plan.

Audi all road (exhaust pictures didn’t get one of the car), customer said the engine sounded like a kettle at high rpm it sounded exactly like that and turned out to be a exhaust blow from dpf to centre pipe a new dpf would be £1000+ so I drilled the old studs out and put new bolts in, the first picture you can see what’s left of the bolts and nuts. 📍great wryley

Focus for an alternator due to noisy bearings, they’re not the best to get to due to having 4 bolts holding them in rather than the standard 2. Sounded much better after. 📍Codsall

Different customers different types of work!

Massey Ferguson tractor for a hydraulic leak, it’s not my normal type of work but for the right customer if it has an engine I’ll have a look if it’s something I can do.

The leak was from one of the hydraulic rams for the boom, I removed it and sent away to be resealed as the seals are welded into these and need a lathe to remove the cap to get to them.

Porsche for brake work, the customer contacted me asking if I could fit some supplied braided HEL brake hoses, He’s thinking of taking it on a track day next year so wanted it ready to go.

I fitted the hoses along with new sections of cupro nickle brake pipe where needed. he also supplied high temp brake fluid which I used the bleed the system. 📍Penkridge

From keeping a tractor working or prepping a Porsche for the track, different customers different expectations same result happy customer 😃😃 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
