It’s been a busy few weeks here at the garage.

We had a 1990 Peugeot 505 GTI (don’t see these about anymore!) in with a snapped cambelt. After completing a compression test we found 3 out of 4 cylinders had no compression and after removing the head found cylinders 2, 3 & 4 had bent exhaust valves.

The head is now going off for skim and a full set of new valves fitted.

Nick loves working on a classic Peugeot especially the GTI’s!

Another degraded wet belt change.

Whilst doing this job we removed the sump and cleaned the oil pick up and gauze. We also cleaned and re-sealed the sump. We then fitted a new oil filter and re-filled with oil using the correct up to date oil specification.

Did you know, if you use the wrong oil specification your belt will degrade quicker.
