Norway just made gasoline cars almost disappear from its roads and most people have no idea how fast it happened 🚗⚡ Between January and August 2026 electric vehicles made up 97.8 percent of all new cars sold in the country according to Norway's Road Traffic Information Council. Some months hit almost 99 percent, leaving petrol and diesel cars as a tiny fraction of sales. Tax breaks, cheaper tolls and strong charging networks pushed drivers to switch faster than anywhere else on earth 🌍

Leading the charge is the Tesla Model Y, which has outsold every rival by a wide margin for months in a row, often more than doubling the number two car. It feels strange to imagine a country where seeing a gas car is rare. Norway shows what happens when policy and technology move together and the rest of the world is watching closely 👀
