🚛 The Spring Bank Holiday has been around a LOT longer than most people think…

Before it became the long weekend we all know today, it was actually called “Whit Monday” and dates back to old spring celebrations, village fairs and maypole dancing 🌼

The modern version of the holiday was fixed to the last Monday in May in the late 1960s, giving the UK a guaranteed long weekend to welcome the start of summer.

Fast forward to 2026 and the traditions are slightly different…

☀️ Garden centres packed
🍔 BBQs fired up
🧳 Everyone heading for the coast at the exact same time
🚚 And transport teams everywhere trying to keep things moving!

Things are picking up across the CB area, and we’re looking for more solid Class 2 (Category C) drivers to join our books.

If you want steady local work, decent clients, and a team that actually knows what it’s like to sit in the cab… you’ll get on well with us.

💷 PAY RATES
£15.00 per hour – first 8 hours
£19.00 per hour – overtime (after breaks/tacho time, of course)

📍 Local Class 2 work across Cambridge & CB area

Did you know that breaking down on the hard shoulder results in 250 people being killed or seriously injured every year? Top three tips to stay safe:

✅Avoid breaking down – by regularly servicing and checking your vehicle (including wipers, tyres, and fluid levels). Report faults immediately and understand your vehicle's warning lights.
❗Be prepared - carry a charged mobile phone, an emergency kit with warm and high visibility clothing, a torch, water, and a reflective triangle.
👷‍♀️Follow general breakdown procedures: If possible, avoid stopping in dangerous places, switch on your hazard lights, and try to pull off the road completely. If you must stop, display your emergency triangle at least 45 metres behind your vehicle (not on a motorway) and NEVER attempt a repair yourself.
