Today marks our 80th birthday as a company, something we are very proud of. We wanted to recognise this anniversary and to thank all of those who came before us, as without their knowledge, hard work and passion for the cars that we love, we simply wouldn’t be here today. We hope the previous generations who ran and worked at the company would approve of what we have achieved during our tenure at the helm.

But the biggest thank you is reserved for YOU, our customers, friends and to all of the motoring enthusiasts around the world who follow and support what we do. Thank you, it means a great deal.

So onward now to our 90th and then 100th anniversary’s. We still have much to achieve.

Testing in the sunshine in one of the most elegant limousine designs ever to grace a Rolls-Royce chassis in my opinion, the PV22 design by James Young. With beautiful lines and a super stylish profile, its hard not to appreciate what the James Young designers were able to achieve on such a long chassis. A true great in the lineage of Rolls-Royce motor car production.

This week marks my 20th anniversary at the business, at least in a shirt and tie. Prior to this I did whatever was needed (or was told to do) cleaning cars, driving the van to pick up parts for the mechanics, or sweeping the workshop floor. July 2006 marked the start of my education on the subject of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars, a huge subject matter that in my opinion nobody will ever learn in its entirety, but I am having a good go 😊

The people that initially taught me about the cars and the industry are no longer around, I will always miss them, but I hope my own enthusiasm and passion for the cars that they loved is a fitting tribute to their memory.

Much has happened over the last twenty years to say the least, chapters conclude and new ones begin. During this time, I have been privileged to have bought, sold, driven and restored some amazing cars as well as meeting their often colourful and interesting owners.

Running a business like ours is a huge team effort. Without such a talented and hard-working group of people at the company and the tremendous support I receive from my family, this simply wouldn’t be possible. Thank you to you all.

The company is 80 years old in a few weeks’ time and my ambition is to see it through to its 100th birthday. I think by then I will be due a rest. But for now, that can wait as I am off to test another car. Now where is my trusty notepad and pen………………….

Pacific green is fast becoming one of my favourite colours on a post-war Bentley and it looks particularly handsome on one of the best looking Bentleys ever made in my opinion, the R Type Continental Fastback by H.J.Mulliner. A great combination, but the locals didn’t seem that bothered 😊

A great day at the RREC Rally at the beautiful Kelmarsh Hall where we presented two cars we have prepared on the concours lawn, picking up first place in the Phantom II class and second place plus a special award in the S Type class. Well done to the for such a super day and congratulations to the owners of these beautiful motor cars 👏👏👏

Its been the hottest week on record here in the UK, so driving a car like this 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe has been the perfect remedy. It has been with our workshop team for some attention and will soon be back with its lucky owner to enjoy ☀️
