The median age across my network is around 37 years old. Currently there is 247 of us who share not only a connection, but a reflection, the past, the present. And the future all collide here.
If I estimated that each person has worked minimum 10yrs - 35 yrs of experience in sectors.
Lets say on average we have around 20 years. 247 connections x 20yrs experience per connection equates to is 4,940 years worth of lived experiences, highs, lows, fails and success. This lies the interesting phenomenon that I’m experience between each connection whether you accepted intentionally or not.
All I see is that I have one of the most diverse, multi sector, cross mapped born for resilience and building in life withraw passion, drive, energy and what we all forget is that we all have the same thing in common. We can breathe, we can speed up and we can slow down.
In this moment. I don’t seek approval, I don’t seek a message I am not asking anything from any of you.
I demand YOU give yourself time to breathe within your own lives too. Breathe deep through your nose and once out your mouth, repeat this however many times you feel and come back to read again if it helps.
I’ve always seen myself as someone who has had the gracious opportunity of having some of the most amazing opportunities a 25 year old can have. I also know that each one of you will be, have been, will never get the chance to be 25 years old. I am reaching the final weeks of this key moment in my life and I’m welcoming each one of you not to like, comment or respond. But too share some experiences with the ones you think aren’t listening. I assure you, through silence and building it can be a great time to build but human cognition and urges ultimately rule the human reaction and blur our own visions for the future or any plans you want too carry out.
I am you, I was you, I want to be you. But “YOU” is such a figurative term as I’ve used it in many ways. You meaning - when I wake up and look in the mirror I see myself. When I step outside the door I see other people. You isn’t a thing, it’s more of an ideology of our own prospectives of ourselves that allow us to not follow through with actions, delay or simply we never had time too.
You have time, I have time. I will make time for you. As you did for me. Anyone that reads this will understand the need for this time in 2025 weve just passed 25th June, as a 25 year old coming close and closer to my birthday in July 17th. This month will be the last full month I have as 25 year old Director. Son, Uncle, Brother, Grandson. I’m devoting my last few weeks not to discuss your work but to discuss your lives. They mean more to me than you will ever know.
I’m looking forward to seeing the discussions that can flourish from this. Not just with software, but with a real lifeline.
Brandon wants to hear the good, the bad, the unheard so that once worried, scared, excited next young woman or man that ever finds themselves in my position we can better prepare them.
