Well what a day ! Today we had our new shear installed. This will allow us to process or heavy steel scrap into 5ft by 2ft lengths . It will also bale cars into cubes. This will allow us to maximise the haulage out of the yard !

Digital Waste Tracking comes into force 1st October!

What’s going to change?

If you are a trader or weighing in metal from your business you must now, produce the following to weigh in your metal:

A waste carriers license
A waste transfer note
A hazardous waste consignment note for Cars/Vans/Batteries/Cable & Catalytic Converters.

Why has this changed?

The UK government has introduced digital waste tracking to tackle waste crime. Every permitted waste site in the UK has to comply from 1st October 2026! All waste received on site has to be digitally logged with Defra within 48 hours of arrival.

Will it affect me?

General public who only weigh in a handful of times a year - No ❌

Scrap trader/bussiness owner/ someone who weighs in multiple times a month - Yes ✅

If we collect your scrap - No ❌
We do all the paperwork on your behalf.

**Charity Skip**

Unfortunately we will not be holding our charity skip this bank holiday weekend due to the yard being so busy we would have been unable to push this as much as we would have wanted too.

We will be looking to return to doing our charity skips again next year.

Thank you to you all for your support over our previous charity skip weekends.

**Job Opportunity**

We are looking for an admin assistant / receptionist within our office team on a full time basis. Minimum wage to begin. Hours will be 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday.

Role will include:

- First port of call for customers coming into the office.
- Answering and making telephone calls.
- Filling out tickets for purchases of metal
- Route planning for collections
- Overseeing welfare and health and safety of staff and customers
- Social media work

Applicant needs to be:

-Punctual
-Confident
-Work on own as well as part of team
-Good time keeping
-Reliable

Our skips will be in place from 5pm on Friday 22nd May until 8am Tuesday 26th May.
