we started our little adventure in 2019 when we decided to try our hand at keeping pigs , we wanted to give our animals the best most natural life possible which is why our pigs live outdoors in woodland & on pasture.

Wallows filled this morning , Mr T is back to his old self which is fantastic to see , yesterday was the first time since he was poorly that he was shouting at me to hurry up with his food , whilst I filled his wallow he had a nice lay down in the shade , the 2 girls in the other photos just had a shower as they are very lucky in that at the bottom of their pen is a stream so that have the best wallowing ground , polly and her piglets where chilling in the shed well all but 1 piglet who was running around the pen excited that the wallows where being filled,,they will most likely be in their wallows when I feed up later , Joyce and nugget where sleeping in their arcs, they have loads of shade as they are in the woods , Rosè has been in and out her shed wallowing , the piglets are yet to come out side 🥰

This was 9:30 this morning in the hut i don't even want to check it now as I know its going to be that high it will result in me throwing my phone across the carpark in disgust , its soo bloody hot in there my eyeballs are sweating ,I should be skinny as a rake just from loss of liquid from my eyes but nooo I'm fatter then when I woke up ,with each 1/2 degree heat increase i get 1/2 inch wider , ohhhh I paint such a lovely picture of myself 🤣 but I'm still smiling its that or cry 😂 I'm definitely not a heatwhore ,just give me a walk in fridge to spend the rest of the week in and I'm happy 😆

We had a visitor to the house , a hummingbird hawk moth , what a beautiful creature , Justin slowed the video down so you can see the movement in it wings 😊

I would normally give you a' the week ahead' post on a monday but I don't know yet how I will cope with the hut 🤦‍♀️you see I'm a 52 year old menopausal woman with my own constant internal heatwave going on ,i can heat a house in the middle of winter just by radiating the constant hot flushes that mother nature thought would be fun to add to the mix of getting older , I know the world coped and carried on during the heatwave of 76 i was there ,ok I was only 2 but I still no doubt carried on in my daily routine of playing with toys and winding my big brother up 😂 so my intention is to be open as normal this week but that inner demon from the pits of hell that lives inside of me may say different , ohhh and on a positive note the BLT will be staying on the menu as it has proved to be popular , don't be afraid to pop by open from 9 till 2 whilst I'm still smiling 😆

Well done Rosè, she finished up with 12 healthy little squiglets 🐷 she is up this morning having her breakfast 😊it is clearly going to be hot weather wise ,Rosè knows this and has made the shed cooler by mixing earth with the straw , I will not be adding more straw as rosè is clever enough to know what her and her piglets need , Rosè has a huge outdoor pen and wallow but over the next few days she will stay inside with her piglets only going out to toilet ,so as you can imagine it will get very warm in the shed , so dont be alarmed by the lack of straw they do not need it ,Rosè knows best and I will follow her lead on what she wants 😊

Rosè is doing great so far, she has now settled into a farrowing trance where she is incredibly relaxed giving quiet grunts which the piglets respond to , she has had 10 so far all feeding and all a really good size 🥰🐷

Not long now till more piglets arrive, rosè has built her nest this morning , we will have piglets by the end of the day 🥰🐷

Somebody is enjoying her pool 😂
Rosè normally shouts when she hears my car but this afternoon was all quiet , she isn't nest building but could be entering the early stages of what's happening i feel weird or she's hiding cause she's been naughty , she had removed the end of the hose pipe which has filled both her wallows she put the tap end down next to the hose pipe as if to say it wasn't me and hid in the shed 😂
