So you want to start creating content? 👀
Start before you’re ready.
One of the biggest mistakes I see instructors making is thinking they need all the gear before they can start.
You don’t.
You don’t need to spend hundreds on fancy cameras, microphones, editing software and equipment before you’ve even posted your first video.
Use what you’ve already got.
Got a dash cam? Start with some dash cam footage.
Got a phone? Stick it on a mount and record.
Learn some basic editing, add some text or captions and POST IT.
See if you actually enjoy creating content first. See what people respond to. See if you can stick to posting consistently.
Then, if you enjoy it and your content starts growing, that’s when you can start investing in better equipment.
And if the thought of recording your lessons makes you uncomfortable?
Don’t record them!

You already have years’ worth of knowledge sitting in your head. Turn it into content.
Because here’s the bit people sometimes miss…
You aren’t just making videos.
You’re marketing yourself.
Every useful video shows somebody your personality, your teaching style and your knowledge.
Someone watches one video.
Then another.
Then another.
And eventually, when they or their teenager needs an instructor, who do you think they’re going to remember?
They already feel like they know you before they’ve even sent that first message.
Content creation doesn’t have to be about becoming an influencer.
For a driving instructor, it can simply be one of the most effective ways of putting yourself in front of the next generation of learners.
So stop waiting until you’ve bought the camera.
Stop waiting until you know how to edit.
Stop waiting until you feel confident talking to a camera.
Start before you’re ready. You can get better as you go. 🖤
