Another one saved 🔧

Called out to a 2010 Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 after the oil pressure light came on while driving — within seconds, the engine had dumped all its oil and cut out.

On arrival, the engine bay was covered in oil, so a full inspection was carried out to find the source of the leak.

Fault found 👇A failed oil pressure switch — a very common issue on these 1.0 and 1.2 Corsa engines — had let go and dumped the oil out under pressure.

Replaced the switch, topped up with fresh oil, and ran the vehicle up to temperature to check everything over.

Happy to say the customer got very lucky on this one — no further damage and the engine is now running spot on again 👍

Simple fault, but if left too long, this could’ve easily meant a new engine.

If you’ve got warning lights on or something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it — get it checked before it turns into something bigger.

Another one sorted ✅

We had a Land Rover Defender 90 (ex-MOD) in running rough, misfiring and over-fuelling. The vehicle had already had plenty of parts thrown at it — plugs, rotor arm, carb work — but the issue was still there.

After carrying out a full inspection, we noticed cylinder 4 plug was wet, pointing us in the right direction. Carb checked out fine, so we dug a bit deeper…

Found the fault 👇A split and disconnected vacuum pipe on the distributor was causing all the issues.

Once the damaged section was cut back and refitted properly, the difference was night and day — smooth idle, no misfire, and fuelling back to normal.

Customer’s words: “I’ve never heard it run this well.”

Just goes to show — it’s not always the big parts, sometimes it’s the small things that get missed 👨‍🔧

🚗 MORRIS MINOR 1000 – ROADSIDES FIX & SAVE 🚗
A great start to the week with a proper bit of classic motoring.
We were called out to a Morris Minor 1000 that had broken down at the roadside. The customer contacted us over the weekend and we attended Monday morning.
On arrival, the engine was cranking strongly but refusing to fire, which immediately pointed us towards an ignition/spark issue.
After a quick roadside diagnosis, we found a loose connection at the distributor cap – stopping the spark getting through to the engine.
Once refitted and secured properly, the car fired straight up and ran perfectly again.
It’s always a pleasure working on classic vehicles like this. Simple engineering, well-built, and still going strong after all these years.
We followed the customer home to make sure everything was safe and running as it should be.
