Well, I didn’t manage to get it welded in today, but I have formed the lower sill and temporarily tacked it on. I have formed the lower part of the wheel arch on the end, I think it’s how it went from memory! 🤔
Tomorrow, I’ll get the sill fully welded and run through the English wheel and then welded in the car

Take two!!

Had a second attempt at making the Heinkel side today and it’s gone a lot better. I didn’t try to make it in one piece this time, so it was actually a lot more straight forward,
Also, have advice from other Heinkel members like Andrew (thank you ) really helped 👍🏻
Hopefully I’ll get it tacked in tomorrow 🙂

Well…..
It was all going so well, for the first real attempt at English wheeling, it started to look okay, we managed to get the sill section wrapped around and it was 70% fitting okay.
That’s when we realised, just going that little bit further and it can all end in disaster!!
Anyway, it’s back to the drawing board with this one!!! 🤣😂🤣

Spent a whole day trying to get the gaps right on the Bluerun pickup, it really is a tedious job, but if you don’t get them right now, once it’s painted, ya knackered!!

Been busy on the Bluerun mini over the last few weeks, I’m on the home straight now, just sorting all the gaps out and a few small bits of welding to finish.

One think I’ve always wanted to have a go at, is lead loading, it really is a dying trade, but there is still a lot of areas in restoration that you can’t do without it.

So…..
Last night , good old YouTube and ’s blog’s I watched his tutorial. As usual he made it look so easy and was very helpful.

Today, I dragged out the Frost lead kit which I’ve had a while and thought I’d have a go

I’ve got to say, it’s a process that as you are working it, you think, “what the hell have I done here”, but as you progress it does start to take shape ( literally).

Probably not a good idea to start on a vertical panel, as it’s a job to keep it on there, but as it was the first attempt, I don’t think it went to bad!! Nothing a scim of filler won’t sort! 🤣

I didn’t take any photos of the lead application, due to it looking like a ploughed field at times.
