I was bullied by a pupil the other day .. was made to feel really bad as I told her she wasn't ready for her test.
She had come from London to do an intensive course with me.
She had wanted just 2 hours before her test..
I had told her that driving in London was totally different to driving here in brecon, narrow country lanes with passing places, dual carriageway.
So she came on the Saturday morning after I advised she came Friday evening so she could be fully rested for driving Saturday. Instead she arrived saturday morning and was already tired from travelling .
I worked with her only 2 hours saturday as she was too tired to concentrate.
Sunday it was apparent after a little while of driving she couldn't get to 70mph on the dual carriageway and assumed 35/40mph would be enough.
Country roads were just as bad ..
She had no idea who had priority on what roads and didn't know when to go at a roundabout
She could only reverse using a reversing camera my car doesn't have one
We managed to get her manouvers perfect.
Her driving improved but jot to test standard.
Monday after 2 hours I made the decision she wouldn't make test level by Tuesday 9am so we had a conversation.
She cried and sobbed and begged saying if she didnt improve after another hour she wouldn't argue and just go home if I said she wasn't test ready.
I gave her the other hour and it didnt go well at all. So I made the decision to tell her again she was not ready.
She said I should give her another chance in the morning before her test .. I said no. She cried , begged and even phoned her sister to convince me to give her another chance in the morning.
I initially said yes as I was being bullied into doing what I knew was wrong .
When I got home absolutely exhausted after all the commotion I messaged her to tell her there was no way I was going to be picking her up for test .
She has now demanded compensation as I should have told her over a month ago that she wouldn't be doing g her test !
She will not be getting compensation from me as she was told if she wasn't good enough she wouldn't be having the use of my car for test.
I can not put up with this behaviour.
It's not the 1st time ive had behaviour like this from students on intensive courses.
This is another reason why you should have lessons with a local instructor.
Now that the rules have changed with the dvsa im hoping this wont be happening in the futre
