Imagine living on a city that never stays in one place.
The Freedom Ship is a proposed $16 billion floating city designed to sail continuously around the world. Originally conceived by American engineer Norman Nixon in the 1990s, the ambitious project is once again being promoted by Freedom Cruise Line International as it seeks funding to bring the vision to life.π₯
Stretching nearly a mile in length, the massive vessel could accommodate up to 80,000 people, including 50,000 permanent residents, 20,000 crew members, and 10,000 daily visitors. The ship would feature everything needed for everyday life, including schools, hospitals, hotels, museums, shopping areas, a convention center, and even a 15,000-seat sports stadium.ππ»
Powered by nuclear energy, the Freedom Ship would be too large to dock at conventional ports. Instead, it is designed to operate as a fully self-sustaining floating city where people could live, work, study, and travel the world without ever leaving home. π―
