2019 Fiat 500 – coolant leak repaired in Northfield 🔧

We were called out after the customer noticed the car was losing coolant. Inspection found the water outlet had become brittle with age and snapped off.

Rather than fitting the same style of plastic outlet again, we fitted a modified replacement with an uprated alloy outlet.

A 2010 Renault Scenic 1.5 dCi came into Car Vitals with a charging fault and the auxiliary belt hanging off. 👨‍🔧

Rather than just fitting another belt, we diagnosed the cause and found a seized alternator clutch pulley. Unfortunately, the failure had also damaged the air-conditioning clutch pulley.

On this setup the air-con cannot simply be bypassed to reduce the repair cost, so the knock-on damage has to be repaired properly.

A 2010 Vauxhall Corsa came into Car Vitals with a suspect noise and coolant leak. 👨‍🔧

After inspection we traced the noise to a failed water pump bearing. On this type of repair we also replace the thermostat assembly because it is a common weak point and can fail suddenly — exactly the sort of thing that can turn one cooling-system repair into another visit later.

A Toyota Aygo came into Car Vitals for an interim service — and, as with every service we carry out, it also received a free pre-MOT style health check. 👨‍🔧

That inspection found front brake pads close to minimum thickness, front discs below manufacturer tolerance and heavily lipped, plus rear drum brakes that needed adjusting so the fronts were not doing all the work.

✅ OE equipment used
✅ Back on the road by 9:00am

This regular customer travels to us from Reading, so we were glad the extra inspection picked the faults up before they became a bigger problem.

A 2009 Volvo XC90 D5 came to Car Vitals with a badly slipping clutch - what we found during strip-down was severe wear, corrosion from water ingress that made transfer-box removal difficult, and multiple vacuum/boost leaks. We replaced the clutch, dual-mass flywheel and concentric slave cylinder, refilled the gearbox oil and documented the additional leaks for later repair. The customer used our Payment Assist option to spread the cost. Rich's beautiful Audi TT in for some more gains. The process is a little different with a petrol in regards to the fact that we'd like it to be run on a premium fuel and the spark plugs changed at the time of tuning (unless theyve been changed quite recently in the service schedule.

Again massive gains with this Audi. It was amazing to drive after the power increase.

Its not just VW Transporters thats we do. This vw crafter came to us desperate for more power after a full conversion.
This is why we datalog every vehicle and every tuned file is unique to the vehicle due to the vehicles being used for different purposes.
Again safe datalogging carried out, then adaptions for EGR and Turbo are reset, another datalog after the tuned file is on to make sure the vehicle is running correctly.
