Before setting off, it’s worth taking a quick look in the engine room/bay to check for any water that may have collected.

💧 If there is water present, Danny shows us how to use the bilge pump button to pump it out.

You’ve arrived. The excitement is building. And your narrowboat is waiting! 😍

🕒 Pick up your boat in the afternoon and get settled in before the team takes you through a full induction. They’ll show you everything you need to know, from handling the boat to navigating the waterways and operating the locks.

🛒 Need to stock up? You can arrange for shopping to be delivered to the base in advance, or use the handy local shopping information provided to pick up supplies on your way.

⚓ Then comes the best bit...

Cast off! 🎉

Once you’re feeling confident, you’re free to head off and enjoy your first afternoon and evening aboard. Find your first mooring, explore the towpath, spot some wildlife, grab a drink at a waterside pub or simply sit back and watch the world go by. 🌿🦆🍻
