‼️WIRRAL DRIVING TEST UPDATE‼️

🚧 Closure of Upton Road bridge and tests moving to Wallasey from 18th September 🚧

📧All affected customers should have received an email. It is VITAL that they continue to check emails for any further updates. This includes test centre and times.

📆There is a possible delay to the road closures from 18th by 1-2 weeks but all changes already notified will still apply.

❌Initial plan to operate from a temp base at Masonic Hall has been pulled and will NOT now happen.

🚗Wallasey test centre will now be maximised and opened additional days. 4 tests will go out on each slot from Wallasey TC. Some operations will still continue from Upton but these will be limited.

🅿️Please aim to park in the TC car park at Wallasey wherever possible using the 4 bays but if not, tests can start from Union Street but under no circumstances use the medical centre car park.

⬇️7 tests slots per day will now be reduced to 6 per day to allow for delays. Please be patient if tests are late back or delayed going out. Examiners will keep service running as efficiently as possible.

⬆️The initial plan for 4 weeks and review will be extended to 6 weeks if there is a delay in the start of the roadworks. Pete will re-evaluate half way through. Updates will be communicated to us.

Close to a motorway Junction, and a large supermarket as one exit makes this a busy roundabout (as you’ll see in the clip).

This clip takes us from Fender Lane (Moreton) towards Bidston and Birkenhead. Even once you’ve left the roundabout there’s still more work to be done.

We are only human, and we all make mistakes.

The important thing is to accept this and look for the fix/improvement. Whether it’s during a reverse or forward driving adjustments may be needed and that’s ok, it’s part of driving we are constantly making changes to plans, positions, signals and other things throughout a drive.

Here’s an example to a parallel park when the back tyre of the car gets too close to the kerb. Relax, focus and think ‘what’s the fix’

After dealing with B&Q roundabout heading to all docks you then have to deal with Poulton Bridge roundabout.
An awkward shaped roundabout which makes it even more important to follow your ‘Lean Left’ action when turning right to show others you intend to leave at the next exit. Try to think of your road position like body language people will read and anticipate your actions based on the position/speed of your car and then your indicator or others signals confirm your actions.
