Thank you 🙏🏻

🙏 IT’S GOOD TO SAY THANK YOU 🙏

So…. a quick trip to Cooplands Bakery in Brigg and then a drop off to the awesome people next door to us at Tom Laycock Motors Ltd.

They have been nothing short of awesome since they opened, helping with all of our cars as well as those of students and parents…. But on top of that….. they take in all of our parcels when we are not here (and even some when we are haha) and are truly the nicest people you could ever meet.

So the least we could do was say thank you with a selection of cakes and yummy goodies.

Thanks you guys, we all think you’re awesome 😎

MOT EXTENSION AND THE IMPACT ON INSURANCE.

We have had several customers who have enquired how the MOT extension would impact their insurance, should they have an accident. We are not 100% sure what would happen. A customer brought their vehicle to us today for a service and MOT for this very reason. It is the car owners responsibiliy to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and should an accident happen and the car is found to be defective, then insurance companies may very well be unlikely to pay out. We are still encouraging all customers to have an MOT if it is due as this is one way to ensure your vehicle is safe, which is our main concern. If you are unsure in any way please call to make an appointment 01652 653922.

Just another couple of examples why it isn’t safe to leave your car MOT for another 6 months. Yet again we have had vehicles in over the last few days with major defects, imagine if these had been left for another 6 months, so dangerous. We are still providing MOTs so please, please, please get your vehicles done. 01652 653922.

WE ARE STILL OPEN
We will remain open to assist with any repairs or issues people may have with their vehicles. We are proud to have helped many customers (old and new) over the last couple of weeks and will continue to do so. Please call 01652 653922 if you need our assistance.

We are still providing MOTs. Please keep safe.

We are still providing MOTs. Please keep safe.

The industry body representing independent motor garages in the UK criticised the 6-month exemption for MOT tests, warning it will cause an increase in unroadworthy vehicles on UK roads.

IMPORTANT!!
We have had another vehicle in today for MOT which has failed on a major defect, this lady was under the impression that her car was fine. Had she continued to drive this car then the chances of her brakes failing were extremely high! If her MOT had run out next week instead of tomorrow, she probably would have just left it for another six months! This really does highlight the importance of an MOT, so please if your car should be due for an MOT, PLEASE either get it done anyway or at the very least, get it checked over.
Thank you.

MOT UPDATE

We have received an email today from the DVSA stating that if your vehicle needs an MOT from 30th March 2020, you will be given a 6 month extension. It does however state that the vehicle MUST BE KEPT IN A ROADWORTHY CONDITION AND DRIVERS CAN BE PROSECUTED IF THEY DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.
If possible, we will carry out MOTs to anyone who wants one but we are also offering a Vehicle Inspection service to check if the vehicle has any defects. Just this week we have had 2 vehicles in with dangerous defects, the customer was oblivious in both case. Had these customers continued to drive their vehicles, there could have been serious consequences.

We are happy to collect your vehicles from your home and deliver it back to you with no contact and the highest level of protection (gloves, sanitiser, wipes etc). Payment can be made either over the phone or via a bank transfer, so again avoiding any contact.

Tom will continue to provide our essential service throughout these strange times and you can contact us via facebook or phone (01652 653922) with any quieries you may have.

Thank you.
