Seeing as she now has a snorkel fitted.
I thought some lights were called for.
So I made some brackets off the top of the sun visor to mount a led light bar.
Cut some holes in the bumper and mounted 2 round led spot lights.
And then I decided to drag a T4 bullbar out of storage to see how it fits.
Made up some mounts and it fits a treat 🤙

So while away in it on the bank holiday I decided I wanted a snorkel so after a bit of looking about I ordered a kit for a Mitsubishi Delcia.
So cut a hole in the wing and got it fitted. Had to cut the sun visor as will to allow it to fit.
Pipework and air box are now a very tight fit but it all in there and working

So I got the transit in the workshop and on the ramp a few weeks ago for some well over due maintenance. It's not had any servicing for over 80k miles and over 10 years but was still a absolute diamond of a van.
New oil and filter. It took 55mins for the oil to drain. Video of how thick the oil was will be in the comments 🤣🤣
New air filter.
Sump and pick up removed and cleaned out.
New DMF and clutch kit.
Another rear axle as the other was noisy so it now has a 3.91 rear diff with new diff oil. The old diff was 5.11 and at 70 it was revving at 3250rpm. With the new 3.91 diff at 70 it's down to 2500 so going to be lovely on fuel now.
New discs and pads all round.
And as a bolt seized and snapped in the front arm/subframe so I had to cut the chassis open to sort. It had all new arm bolts. AND...
A nice 50mm lift kit fitted.
Still need to do the fuel filter and aux belt then after Easter it'll be having another oil and filter change..
Some nice alloys and big tyre to come.
Hopefully it do this year then there will be a bmw M57 engine going in.
Bodywork and respray but still unsure on colours yet.
The temp camping interior will come out and a nice new one will be going in.

So I picked this 2013 citroen c3 vtr+ up with a smokey puretech engine carried out the relevant checks all seemed ok.
Done some research and it would appear they're now called purecrap engines and they suffer from the piston ring carbon'ing up causing to burn a lot of oil.
So the engine is now out and stripped ready for New rings and bearings.
Obviously all new gaskets.
New water pump and wet belt kit.
Hopefully the new parts will arrive through the week so I can get it back together, back in and running.

Right so I've had a bit of a break recently.
The red audi A3 has sold.
So as of last weekend the green T4 is now back in the workshop to get a few more bits done on it.
Rear emptied out and cleaned.
Most of the exposed metal is now carpeted.
And I have just started cut new side panels ready to be carpeted as well.
Then new flooring is going in.
I'm now probably going to sort some kind of rear camping interior for it. Wasn't the original plan but sod it why not.
It now needs a new set of wheels as I stole them for the A3.
Full service then a new mot so once all done and ready it'll be ready for sale around April May time.

So I picked this lovely Audi A3 sportback tdi up a couple of weeks ago.
It had been sat for a fair while covered in leaves so needed a good clean.
So far it's had,
A quick was off.
Replacement ECU so she now runs with no issues.
New rear wiper arm.
New coil spring.
New top mount.
New ball joint.
New track rod end.
New anti rollbar drop link.

Left to do,
The wheels are coming off and a set of 18" Audi wheels going on with brand new tyres.
Wash, polish and interior clean.
12 months MOT.

Then this will be up for sale in a couple of weeks.

Right so I have this Fiat ducato in for some work and then camper conversion to include:
Insulation, solar, side windows, roof vent, diesel heater, carpeting and all the electrical works.
And a full engine service.

First some of the work needed doing before conversion works.

1, Central locking not working on the side and rear door.
Found the sliding door contacts to be broken. So these were replaced. Also found 2 broken wires in the rear doors so these were repaired.
Remote Central locking now sorted and all working.

2, Rear doors not closing and latching properly.
Found the lower rear threshold panel to be badly damaged it was 3 inches lower then it was ment to be.
I tried welding eye bolts ect to it and pulling it up but no luck.
So I tried sourcing a replacement panel but no luck.
So this was then cut about and straightened up before a new angled edge was welded in and a new striker plate fitted.
Rear doors now open and latch correctly.

3, Roof gutter seal panel at the top of the rear doors was bent 2 inches too high so the doors wouldn't seal to the body.
This was pulled to a better position so the doors seal when closed.

4, Sliding door not opening and closing correctly.
Found the sill was pushed in 4 inches so this was pulled out so the door seal would do it's job.
Found bolts missing from runners so these were replaced and adjusted correctly.
Sliding door now opens and closes easily.

So next up I will be to starting on the interior conversion.
