Right so I have this Fiat ducato in for some work and then camper conversion to include:
Insulation, solar, side windows, roof vent, diesel heater, carpeting and all the electrical works.
And a full engine service.
First some of the work needed doing before conversion works.
1, Central locking not working on the side and rear door.
Found the sliding door contacts to be broken. So these were replaced. Also found 2 broken wires in the rear doors so these were repaired.
Remote Central locking now sorted and all working.
2, Rear doors not closing and latching properly.
Found the lower rear threshold panel to be badly damaged it was 3 inches lower then it was ment to be.
I tried welding eye bolts ect to it and pulling it up but no luck.
So I tried sourcing a replacement panel but no luck.
So this was then cut about and straightened up before a new angled edge was welded in and a new striker plate fitted.
Rear doors now open and latch correctly.
3, Roof gutter seal panel at the top of the rear doors was bent 2 inches too high so the doors wouldn't seal to the body.
This was pulled to a better position so the doors seal when closed.
4, Sliding door not opening and closing correctly.
Found the sill was pushed in 4 inches so this was pulled out so the door seal would do it's job.
Found bolts missing from runners so these were replaced and adjusted correctly.
Sliding door now opens and closes easily.
So next up I will be to starting on the interior conversion.
