Our Margaret on the midnight express last night.
After delivering a vehicle next door,
We felt a need to take a snap at the place it all began for this truck.
A special order from new back in 1989 by Frank himself.
The little lorry with a big heart. A firm favourite with all at Frost.

"where's the DAF? "
Is a regular question of late.
Well...
She come home from our friends at Bury St Edmunds in October last year after some rather serious chassis work.
We put her on hold til now and she's looking a bit naked!
But phase 2 is now commencing 🙏

We've had our friend Jim shot blast and undercoat the final few bits around her front chassis, axle, bumper sub frame & counterweight.

And now we put our trust into Andrew who's going through her mechanicals meticulously.

- All new brakes going on this next week.
- Her Turbo off for inspection.
- The radiator and intercooler are next to be removed and sent off for testing.
- General ongoing tidying of air pipes and wiring
- New wiper linkages fitted
- Our good friends from a Somerset Carnival Club doing some remedial work on her anti-roll bar (Thank you Tom & Co)

At 36 years old this year, slowly but surely from the ground up is the only way to get her right👌

Our Molly Dolly Frost ready and raring to kick off the Guy Fawkes Carnival in Bridgwater this evening!
Look out for the Frost Rescue breakdown truck and give her a wave!

Tonight was the Wellington Illuminated Carnival and we last paid a visit back in 2023. The event is always supported by Frost Rescue and here we see their classic ERF E14 recovery lorry in the procession.

A peek at what's been going on with our DAF heavy recovery vehicle.
Tony and the team at Inter UK Engineering. Bury St Edmunds have been busy boys working their magic bringing life into the old girl.
Chassis work complete.
The auxiliary gear shot blast and undercoated by our friend Jim here in Somerset.
Then sent to Bury to be married back on to the DAF.
A few modifications now coming to an end.
We can't thank Tony and the team enough.
The standard of work is incredible.

She will be heading home soon for the next stage!

A late Christmas for our Big Liz
A steering component overhaul.
Not a bad service of 37 years on her original parts 😎

Big thanks go to our friends at Cheshire Truck Parts.
Martin has gone to great extent to help us over the years.
This occasion has resorted in contacting the original manufacturers of certain steering components and producing another batch for an otherwise obsolete part.
A man who knows and loves his ERFs!

And thank you Sid at Total Wheel Alignment
For bringing her back on track! 🙂

Good Afternoon followers!
We haven't posted on here for a little while.
We have been busy bees working on projects over the last few months in between jobs.
Heres a peek at whats been going on with one of our trucks.

At the end of last year Daffy left the yard for some major surgery 🛠️🩺
The locker bodies and recovery gear was removed by our friends at Middleton Engineering.
The chassis cab then left heading for Intertrailer-uk In Bury St Edmunds for her new chassis!
The first stage now complete, the next stage will be fettling the recovery gear ready for the re-mount to her chassis. A long way to go yet but heading in the right direction.

This might seem rather excessive for an older lorry. But when you have something that works well for you. Reliability, robustness and simple workings. Its well worth the effort.

For one procession only (Being her 13th consecutive year) we will be blessed with Molly Dolly Frosts prescence this evening so please do give her a big shout out and a wave!

🎉Frost Rescue have a milestone Birthday celebration this month.
Our Margaret is 35 years old! 🎂🎉

First registered on 01.09.89 to Frank Tucker Commercials. The Southwest ERF dealership as a special order from factory to use as their own recovery vehicle.

We thought we'd give her a bit of a treat.
5 months of health spa treatment she is good as new!
She's snuck out for a couple of evening jobs this week after an annual MOT.
What a pleasure to use.
Keep an eye out. She's back in daily use! I'm sure you will hear her before you see her 😁
