we achieved SERMI accreditation! 🎉
What is SERMI?
SERMI (Security-related Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Information) is a mandatory European certification scheme. It allows independent garages like ours to access secure manufacturer data for specialist tasks such as ECU programming, key programming, and immobiliser repairs.
Currently, 19 manufacturers require SERMI certification to carry out security-related work on their vehicles.
What does SERMI accreditation mean for us?
It proves that we operate to the highest standards of legality, security, and professionalism. We will also be subject to regular inspections over the coming years to maintain this accreditation.
What does this mean for you?
Honestly, not a great deal in day-to-day terms. The trust you already place in us is the best proof that we’re doing things right.
However, it does mean we can now carry out certain specialist jobs that many other workshops are unable to perform.
For these specific tasks, we may need a copy of the vehicle’s log book (V5C) and proof of your ID. We will always let you know in advance if this is required — and it will be a relatively rare occurrence.
