Good afternoon, L plate fans.

Remember me givin’ it the big’un the other day? All that ‘greatest driving instructor in the world’ vibe? Well I am, but that doesn’t mean I’m any good on a mountain bike. 🤷‍♂️

As such, whilst doing the sort of stuff 8yr old children land with ease, I decided to crash and do this to myself at the weekend. 🥴

As you can see, it’s a little gnarly. That bone ain’t boning like it used to. In three places. 😩

I’m getting round to everyone where I can, with upcoming lessons or enquiries. I’ve been advised that recovery for this for the average man could be a little lengthy, but I obviously ain’t no average man. So should have this puppy repaired by the morning. 💪

Ok, the morning may be a little ambitious, but please bear with me, I shall keep you all posted with progress.

Peace, love, and thank you all in advance for your patience. 🚗 🚲 🙌

Afternoon, L plate fans.

Many of you will be aware that the driving test situation at Banbury’s driving test centre - has been an effin nightmare for the last few months. Most our examiners went missing on full pay, with the DVSA having to cancel all those driving tests.

However, we are back on track! All our covering examiners are doing a great job, are very friendly and super good looking! (I know they see public posts)

So after having 5 tests cancelled in a row - I’ve since had the next 8 in a row all pass! 7 of those first time, the clever little things! 🙌

As such, I actually now have some immediate availability on a Tuesday afternoon, if anyone would like lessons with the greatest driving instructor in the world. (You can challenge that claim, but you’ll have to fight me 👊)

*Insert pic of some geezer from Peaky Blinders, which middle-aged men do when they’re giving it big licks on Facebook*

Afternoon, L plate fans. We’re just knocking up some bumper stickers that you might find interesting.

This ain’t no April Fool’s
It ain’t no country club either
This is LA…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!!

We are 15 years old today! 🥳 Scott Mills would love us. 🥰 (Gonna need Aldi’s legal team for that one)

That means that just over 15 years ago I qualified as an ADI. I’m really starting to get the hang of it! 👋 7 million first time passes and zero fails says so too! (Ok, that bit got a bit April Fool’sy) The DVSA reckon I’m the kiddy too, as they’ve put me in the small percentage of the nation’s top instructors. Man’s an A Grade, innit. 💁‍♂️ (Although no one even knows we’re graded 🥴) The DVSA also confirmed that I’m the best looking instructor on the register too. 💅 (Ok, I got a little slippery with the truth at the end there)

Across those 15 years, you can imagine my car has seen many many tears. All mine. 😭

From everyone here at Rich Conisbee Driving Instruction (as I sit here alone in my pants, icing an elderly knee and eating a small cupcake), we thank you for your love and support, Brackley and surrounding areas. 🙏 You’re the reason we continue to do this. But mainly because I’ve got bills to pay, and mountain bikes and wine ain’t cheap.

Have a blessed day. 🎂

Not that it’ll happen, and it is also NOT about road safety, but I’d welcome the proposed six months between driving theory and practical tests. It would have an impact on the booking system.

It would feel unfair on some, but six months is a pretty normal route to a licence. So pass your theory as soon as you turn 17, and book a test for six months time, just moving it back if you then require more time.

What this would stop, is Test Centre Tourists. Dad thinking 6 months is outrageous, when although his son/daughter has just about managed to reverse a car in a straight line, has managed to find a test next week in *insert town that son/daughter hadn’t even heard of before dad hit the jackpot*.

I am fed up with sitting in the waiting room with parents, announcing ‘hope he passes this time, this is the fifth centre we’ve been to. What do you think the problem is with booking tests?’

Mate!!!

Cue a bunch of middle-aged men saying ‘but you should be able to drive anywhere! And also drive in snow! And also be able to replace the gearbox on a ‘67 Chevrolet! 😩’.

Is that right, Tony. Test day is already nervy AF. Your mrs won’t drive if it involves a busy town centre that she doesn’t know, think about that…
