Freedom 4x4 is sadly closing and taking a back seat for a while. The current workshop has reached the end of its rental period and an alternative space has not been found. This is the last job to roll out of the workshop, 1HDT 80 having had a full engine rebuild including pump and injectors. Finished off with a premium Buzzweld underbody rust treatment. Nice to end on a high note.

A big thank you to all who have supported Freedom 4x4 and hoping to see you again soon in one form or another. I am still able to build and offer the stainless 3" exhausts for the 80.

100 series in for a chunk of work. Aftermarket rims only held on by 3 threads so a second hand set of originals sourced and powder coated. Replaced some ancient and stinky PAS fluid. Front end had various worn components changed, driveshafts, drive flanges, steering inner arms and track rod ends. Upper balljoint boots. New discs and pads all round, a front caliper, rear diff breather. The TCV on the fuel pump was leaking (common issue) and someone had been in before and mullered the rearmost cap head bolt, so had to strip down to remove injector pipes to gain access with an Irwin to get it out. Timing belt has been done elsewhere and allegedly done the water pump too, as you can see that needed doing also (play in shaft). Changed the spare wheel wind up mechanism and all finished off with a set of BFG KO2 AT's and new wheel nuts.

D4D Colorado in for service, handbrake cable and SCV's. Inner most cap head bolt a swine to get out and a little bit of rust in the SCV ports. New ones installed and the intermittent loss of power problems no longer an issue.

Helped a friend out this weekend after this Discovery 2 had melted its thrust bearing, chewed the clutch and dual mass flywheel was well and truly toast. Back on the Cruisers in the morning.

Lovely 100 in for a fair bit of upgrading. New steering rack, upper wishbones and lower ball joints. AHC delete replaced...

Lovely 100 in for a fair bit of upgrading. New steering rack, upper wishbones and lower ball joints. AHC delete replaced with Ironman Foamcell Pro shocks, springs and torsion bar kit. Rear wheel bearings, inner axle oil seals and handbrake rebuild. It put up a fight at times but all sorted just in time for Christmas.
