🎄 Hurn Autos Christmas Chaos - Karting, Axes & Very Questionable Darts 🏁🪓🎯
Friday night the Hurn Autos crew hit the kart track for our Christmas do, and honestly… it went exactly how you’d expect.
Fast laps, loud shouting, questionable racing lines and at least one person giving it “I swear this kart’s slower.”
🏎 KARTING – WHERE THE EXCUSES WERE AS FAST AS THE LAPS
Tyler came out swinging with a 30.820 in qualifying and a 30.788 in the final. Kid’s basically a human Scalextric car.
Lee (Drift King) actually kept the drifting to a minimum and still banged in a tidy 31.024 → 30.663.
Rumour has it he tried drifting anyway, just to assert dominance.
Brad decided to ruin everyone’s night with a 29.844 - the only 29 of the evening. We get it mate, you’re fast… no need to use the rest of us as braking markers. 🙄
Em levelled up mid-event with 31.764 → 30.704, absolutely flying in the final.
Secretly doing laps here on her lunch break? Unconfirmed.
Shaun stayed glued to the fast lot with 31.209 → 30.976. Predictably solid. Probably didn’t blink once.
Rory found half a second in the final 32.144 → 31.568, proving that mild panic = extra pace.
Sea-Bass put in two sessions so consistent you’d think he copy-pasted his times: 31.971 → 32.044.
He said he wasn't trying during the final, Rory suspects it's because he beat him.
Garry shaved off nearly a full second 33.139 → 32.228, and looked suspiciously proud of it.
Mumsie took a hell of a step forward 43.018 → 37.573. Massive improvement - bonus points for zero spins.
Ebony deserves her own paragraph:
44.305 → 35.075. A NINE-SECOND IMPROVEMENT.
That’s not progress. That’s a character arc.
🪓 AXE THROWING – EMILY MADE THE LADS LOOK USELESS
After karting we went axe throwing, and Emily - already riding the karting high - proceeded to humiliate every man in the building.
Bullseyes. Smug smile. Repeated dominance.
The lads tried… bless them.
Anything above the wooden frame counted as a win at that point.
🎯 DARTS – MIRACLE WINS ALL ROUND (apart from Sea-Bass and Brad...)
We finished with darts, where somehow everyone who mattered managed a win (Yeah, see fast boy, sometimes you're not the best).
Whether skill, luck or gravity did the job… we’ll never know.
But confidence was high, form was low, and maths was… optional.
🎉 ALL IN ALL
Karting? Quality.
Axe throwing? Females 1 – Males 0.
Darts? Chaos but fun.
Team spirit? 10/10.
Lap times? We’ll be bringing them up all year.
Same time next year - and Brad, leave the 29s at home next time, yeah?
