GRS are agents for various recovery organisations including The AA and also for the Police. Before leaving your vehicle, please check that you’re not:

❌ Blocking a driveway.
❌ Restricting emergency access.
❌ Parked on double yellow lines.
❌ Obstructing traffic.
❌ Or relying on hazard lights to create a temporary parking bay.

The beach will still be there after you’ve found a proper space.

Your vehicle, however, may not be.

Some recoveries are a little further off the beaten track than others…

This car had ended up stranded in the middle of the New Forest, so reaching it and getting it safely back out needed careful planning, the right equipment and a coordinated approach from our team.

Awkward location, limited access and plenty of obstacles to work around - but another job completed safely and successfully by Team GRS. ✅

Heading out for a summer day trip or family holiday?

Five minutes spent checking your vehicle before leaving could save you several hours at the roadside.

Before setting off:
✅ Check your tyre pressures and tread
✅ Check your oil and coolant levels
✅ Make sure you have enough fuel or charge
✅ Look for warning lights
✅ Check that your lights are working
✅ Keep water and a charged phone with you

And perhaps don’t wait until you’re already stuck in beach traffic to acknowledge the warning light that appeared last Tuesday…

☀️ Hello, August.

The summer holidays are in full swing, Dorset is getting busier by the day, and our team are preparing for one of the busiest months of the year.

More visitors means more traffic, more journeys and, inevitably, more breakdowns.

Our controllers, drivers and recovery operators will be working around the clock throughout the summer to keep people moving safely across Dorset and Hampshire.

Enjoy the sunshine, drive carefully and hopefully the only vehicle taking you home from the beach will be your own.

For most people, a sunny Friday marks the start of the weekend, but for our team, it usually marks the start of things getting a lot busier.

While Bournemouth fills up with visitors, our controllers, drivers and recovery operators will be working around the clock to keep people moving.

Breakdowns, accidents, vehicle movements and the occasional “I was only going to leave it there for five minutes”… They deal with it all.

A big thank you to everyone at GRS for the long days, late finishes and continued hard work during one of our busiest times of the year.
