Spark Developments MDA Rallycross Championship – Final Round at Knockhill 🏁

What a way to round off the 2026 Rallycross Championship!

Jason Tull made his debut in UK motorsport in an R50 MINI and came away with an impressive 2nd place in the MDA Rally Car class! 🥈 Proving that these little cars can certainly punch above their weight and put on a great show!

Meanwhile, Paul Woodford spent the day in the 205 he used at Blyton back in June and doing his best to avoid most of the tyres 😉 Paul finished 2nd place in the MDA Classic category and secured himself the 2026 Spark Developments MDA Rallycross Championship Classic Champion title 👏

A fantastic result for both drivers to finish off the championship, with plenty of action, sideways moments and close calls along the way! 🙌

A big thanks to the Spark team, the event organisers, marshals and everyone involved in running the event. A huge thanks also to Jason and Paul for putting on a show in the Spark cars 🚗

A 6 hour trip has seen us arrive at Knockhill circuit ahead of the final round of the Spark Developments MDA Rallycross Championship.

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, and we took a moment to catch up with Team Spark as we reflect on 2026 so far and look ahead to the excitement, thrills and adrenaline of race day tomorrow 🏁

⚙️ Why balance a prop shaft?

✅ Reduces vibration – Eliminates unwanted vibrations through the drivetrain.

✅ Protects components – Reduces unnecessary stress on gearbox bearings, differential bearings and UJs.

✅ Improves reliability – Helps prevent premature wear and potential drivetrain failures.

✅ Smoother power delivery – A balanced prop shaft allows the drivetrain to operate more smoothly, particularly at high speeds.

✅ Safety – Excessive vibration can lead to fatigue and, in extreme cases, catastrophic prop shaft failure.

A prop shaft might look perfectly straight, but that doesn’t mean it’s dynamically balanced!

🏁 It's race weekend 🏁

This weekend we switch Rallying for Rallycross as we head to Knockhill in Scotland for round 3 of the Spark Developments MDA Rallycross Championship & Round 6 of the BTRDA Rallycross Championship.

We've got Paul Woodford returning to the Rallycross grid in the Classic category, piloting the Peugeot 205 last seen in his hands back at Blyton in June.

Meanwhile, Jason Tully will make his debut to UK Rallycross, showcasing an R50 Mini in the Rally car class. How will it differ from Rallycross in Barbados?

Not every day you get a Peugeot 306 Maxi turning up at the workshop!

This stunning bit of French rally machinery has joined us for some work, and we have to say, it’s certainly a car that looks as good standing still as it does flat out on a stage!

The 306 Maxi has always been one of those iconic rally cars, and it’s great to have one through our doors.

From Minis to Escorts, Peugeots and everything in between, there’s never a dull moment at Spark HQ!
