**The knock that only happens in one direction when turning.**

Turn left? Silent. Turn right? CLUNK.

Or vice versa. One direction is fine. The other direction is a nightmare.

This is one of the most specific diagnostics you can get. It tells us exactly which side the problem's on, and usually exactly which component.

When you turn, the suspension geometry changes on both sides, but the weight transfer is different. If there's play in the bushes / suspension on one side, that's when you hear it.

Main dealers will tell you to replace both sides to be safe. We'll tell you it's just one side. The choice is yours, usually a broken coil on a spring causes this!

Does your Picasso clunk in only one direction? Drop a comment and tell us—left or right? And how bad is it compared to the other direction?

**The squeak that happens when you turn the wheel.**

You're turning into a car park and there's a high-pitched squeak from the front. It's worse when you turn hard.

It sounds like something's rubbing.

This is usually the CV joint or the suspension components rubbing against the rubber boots.

The boots are designed to keep grease in and dirt out.

When they wear or tear, the joint starts to squeak.

It's not dangerous. But it's a sign the joint is getting tired.

Replace the boot or the joint and the squeak disappears.

Does your Picasso squeak when you turn?

Ever had CV joint work done?

**The knock that sounds different from the driver's seat vs the passenger seat.**

Sit in the driver's seat? Sounds like it's coming from the left. Sit in the passenger seat? Sounds like it's coming from the right.

This is actually brilliant diagnostic information. It tells us the noise is coming from underneath the car, not from inside the cabin. And it tells us roughly where.

If it sounded the same from both seats, it would be inside the cabin. The fact that it changes tells us we're dealing with a suspension component.

Main dealers will spend hours trying to find the source. We'll narrow it down in minutes based on where you hear it from.

Where do you hear your Picasso's knock from? Drop a comment and tell us—driver's side, passenger side, or the middle? And does it sound different depending on where you sit?

**The knock that sounds like it's getting progressively worse.**

Week one? A small clunk. Week two? Slightly louder. Week three? You're convinced the car's about to fall apart.

This is the progression of a worn bush. Each week it gets worse because the component's deteriorating. The gap's getting bigger. The movement's getting more pronounced.

If you ignore it, it doesn't fix itself. It gets worse. And worse. Until one day you hit a bump and something actually breaks.

Main dealers will tell you to monitor it. We'll tell you to fix it now before it becomes a real problem.

Is your Picasso's knock getting progressively worse? Drop a comment and tell us—how long has it been going on? And is it getting louder every week?

**The vibration that only happens at 60mph.**

You're cruising at 60 and there's a vibration through the steering wheel. Not constant. Just at that specific speed.

Go faster or slower and it disappears.

This is usually a wheel balance issue or a bent wheel. When a wheel is out of balance, it vibrates at certain speeds.

The vibration gets worse as you go faster, but at certain speeds it's more noticeable because of the resonance frequency of the car.

It could also be a worn CV joint or a damaged tyre.

Either way, it's worth getting checked out.

Does your Picasso vibrate at a specific speed? Ever had your wheels balanced?

**The rattle that gets louder when it's damp.**

It's been raining. You drive out and there's a rattle from the suspension that wasn't there before. A few hours later when it's dried out? Gone.

Weird, right?

This is usually moisture in the suspension joints.

When it's damp, water gets into the rubber bushes and the metal joints. The water acts like a lubricant, but it also changes how the components move.

The rattle is the joint moving slightly more than it should.

When it dries out, the friction returns and the rattle stops.

It's a sign your suspension's getting tired and moisture is getting in where it shouldn't.

Does your Picasso rattle more when it's damp? Ever noticed a noise that comes and goes with the weather?
