Mercedes-Benz B180 CDI:

This B-class came in to us with the engine light on. The customer had been told by another garage that they needed to clean/replace their DPF. We diagnosed the issue and it turned out to be an oil leak causing an implausible signal to the ECU from on one of the electrical plugs by the turbo charger causing a boost error code.

Although rectifying the oil leak wasn’t the cheapest of fixes it was certainly cheaper than any DPF work especially as this would have resolved the issue and the customer would have had to spend even more money afterwards.

In classic fashion we didn’t manage to get any images of the repair till the valve cover was already placed back on. We of course cleaned the entire engine compartment as well to eliminate all the oil residue left over from the leak.

All in all another example of why it pays to go and see a specialist like ourselves for all your repairs.

BMW 320i F30:

This 3 series came into us with an engine coolant leak. Seems coolant leaks are the trend at the moment for us! This was resolved by replacing the coolant pipe running from the cylinder head to the expansion tank.

Another happy customer back on the road again!

VW Golf VII GTI 2.0 TFSI:

This GTI came into us with a coolant leak. Luckily for the customer the leak was a coolant pipe and not the notorious water pump on these that we posted a few weeks ago on the Golf R!

We also completed a full service with spark plugs and gave the car 4 new tyres with a diamond cut wheel refurbishment in collaboration with Customise Your Wheels just around the corner.

Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 CDI (C218)

This Mercedes came into us with reported smoke and running issues. The customer also reported an issue they had basically given up on fixing due to the high cost and other garages misdiagnoses. Fortunately this customer decided to come to us this time around. We resolved the engine issue and the other issue misdiagnosed by other garages for a fraction of the suggested expense.

Furthermore, we performed a complementary health check which revealed multiple failed suspension components that was even missed by the MOT centre 10 days prior to the visit with us. These issues were also mended at the same
time.

VW Eos 2.0 TDI

This Eos came into us as the convertible roof wouldn’t close. This is the most dreaded part of any convertible ownership as most people don’t have a safe and dry place to store their car. We took the vehicle in the same day to shelter it from the weather and to diagnose the issue. We had the vehicle returned to the customer with a fully working roof within 1 business day!

Audi A4 3.0 TDI B9

This lovely Audi returned to us for the coolant leak we detected during its last visit. Another garage had already attempted to repair the coolant leak. Therefore, we recommended the customer return to the other garage for them to amend their mistake, as we would have had it been us. Unfortunately, the customer was fobbed off by the other garage, hence why it is now back with us! We later discovered that they had actually mis-diagnosed the repair!

The vehicle was already scheduled to come in with us for an extended service package. Which included replacing the transmission oil and filter, transfer case oil, front differential and rear differential oil.

We also replaced the engine mounts due to a knock coming from the left engine mount as it had lost most of its liquid

This customer is again back on the road happier than ever with a silky smooth drivetrain and no knocking sounds.

VW Transporter T6 2.0 TDI

Transporter in last week for some engine diagnostics. Oil pressure regulator valve had failed so needed replacing. Unfortunately, it had seized within the engine block and had to be extracted via drilling. Meaning the sump and oil pump had to be removed to avoid any metal shavings within the engines oil system.

We also eliminated another separate engine fault and replaced the bushes for the front anti-roll bar including 4-wheel alignment.

X5 in with us for a major service and disc and pads all round.

This vehicle is the perfect example of why you should consider a specialist like ourselves before going anywhere else. Since new, this vehicle has had work carried out by two of the biggest garage chains in the country. We are not able to determine all potential past short falls of past garages, However, during this visit it was clear that the air filter had been incorrectly fitted and it actually turned out to be the incorrect part for this vehicle as well. We also found that the rear brake pads, which were recently replaced by another garage, had also been installed incorrectly.

This vehicle is now back on the road in a safe manner for the owner and the vehicle itself. To top it all off, unlike your average garage, we updated the online service history and uploaded it to the vehicles iDrive system as well.

Ranger Rover Sport PHEV L494!

Ranger Rover Sport in with us for diagnostic & repair after multiple failed attempts at other garages! There was a total of 5 separate electrical faults on the vehicle that we found and resolved!

We also completed an extensive service and new brakes all round. The vehicle is now back to its former glory and the owner is back on the road!

Although we specialise in German vehicles it doesn’t mean we don’t have the knowledge and gear to deal with JLR too.
