A Drive-Up Training road-safety wake-up call

Let’s keep this simple:
If you’re driving and using your phone, you’re not multitasking…..you’re gambling!!!! With your licence. With your job. With someone’s life.

The cold, ugly truth:
• Drivers are 4× more likely to crash when using a phone.
• About 4% of drivers admit they still do it.
• In a single year, distraction from phones contributed to over 460 collisions, 21 of them fatal.

Lives. Gone. Because of a notification!

🚨 Driving Instructors & professional drivers:
If you’re caught using a hand-held phone behind the wheel:
💸 £200 fine
⚠️ 6 points
🚫 A serious threat to your reputation, career, pupil safety, insurance, and livelihood.

One moment of 'just checking' can undo everything you’ve worked for.
👉 So what should you do instead?
• Phone OUT OF SIGHT; glove box, bag, boot.
• Use hands-free only and only when stopped safely.
• Let messages wait. No text is worth a crash.
• Be the driver you’d trust with your family.

💬 Final word from Drive-Up Training:
We’re not here to nag…..we’re here to keep the roads safer.
Your phone can wait…..
Your life, your learners, your job… can’t.

📵 Drive smart. Drive safe. Drive-Up.
Share this. Someone needs to hear it today.

🔥 ATTENTION ADIs & PDIs! THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! 🔥

If you’re out there delivering driving lessons every day, listen up because safeguarding isn’t a 'nice extra'… it’s NON-NEGOTIABLE.

You’re teaching people a life skill in a one-to-one, enclosed space. That means YOU are the first line of protection, for your learner and for yourself.

Here’s the reality 👇
🚨 Safeguarding protects YOU from misunderstandings, false allegations, and awkward situations. Professional boundaries, clear communication, and safe working habits aren’t “overkill” , they’re logical sense.
🚨 Safeguarding protects YOUR LEARNERS, especially young people and vulnerable adults. When they feel safe, respected, and supported, they learn faster and drive with confidence.
🚨 Safeguarding builds TRUST and trust builds your reputation, referrals, and business.

You wouldn’t let a learner hit the road without checking their mirrors so don’t run your business without checking your safeguarding. It’s part of being a modern, credible, professional Instructor. The DVSA expects it. Parents expect it. Learners expect it.

💥 Safe Instructor = safe learner. Safe learner = better lessons. Better lessons = stronger business.

Make safeguarding part of your daily routine and not an afterthought.
Because the safest thing in your car… should be YOU.

🚗💬 Drive smart. Coach smart. Safeguard smart
