Meet Erika Smiley – Sales Executive at Vertu Motors Land Rover

This week we’re catching up with Erika Smiley, who has been helping customers find their perfect Land Rover for the past five years.

Q&A with Erika

Q: What was your first car?
A: A Mercedes AMG A class, not just the standard one! Which has now been passed onto my mother.

Q: How long have you worked at Vertu Land Rover, and what first attracted you to the role?
A: I’ve been with Vertu Land Rover for a total of five years. I was attracted by the opportunity to work with a premium brand that I’ve always loved and join a company that genuinely invests in its people and customer experience.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: Building relationships and taking them through the customer buying journey. My favourite part is the customisation and specification process before seeing their vision come to life.

Q: What makes working at Vertu Land Rover special?
A: The team culture. Everyone is supportive, approachable, and focused on delivering the best experience for our customers. There’s a real sense of teamwork and pushing each other to be better.

Q: What’s been one of your proudest moments during your five years here?
A: Receiving positive feedback from customers and seeing repeat customers return to me over the years. It shows that the trust and relationships I’ve built have made a difference.

Q: What would you say to someone considering a career with Vertu Land Rover?
A: Go for it! If you’re passionate about people, enjoy working as part of a team, and want opportunities to develop your career, it’s a fantastic place to work.

Q: What is your favourite Land Rover model and why?
A: If you know me, its no secret that the Defender is my favourite model, in my opinion it is one of the most practical and versatile cars on the market and has both style and substance. There’s no occasion a Defender looks out of place!

Q: What motivates you every day?
A: Helping customers, achieving goals, driving these incredible cars and being part of a successful team that supports each other.

Meet the Team 👋

This week, we’re catching up with Brooke Taylor, our other Senior Sales Executive here at Bolton Land Rover, to find out more about her automotive journey, career aspirations, and dream vehicle from our line-up.

What was your first car?🚗
Similar to Andrew West who was featured last week, I had a Renault Clio. I always wanted one, and over the years I’ve ended up owning five of them!

What do you drive now?🚙
I currently drive an Evoque 1.5 P300e Edition. My favourite feature has to be the Light Cloud interior – it looks fantastic and makes every journey feel that bit more special.

What made you want to work for Vertu?💪
My dad has worked for Vertu, so I’ve known the company since I was 11 years old. I was lucky enough to complete some work experience with the business, and that’s when I really fell in love with the company. Since then, I’ve had opportunities to work at Head Office and at another Vertu retailer in the North East where i was born and raised, which has helped me build my career within the group.

What is your dream car from our line-up?🤔
Without a doubt, the Land Rover Defender 90 D350 X. I love going off-road, and it has plenty of space for my Golden Retriever, Maverick!

What’s the best piece of advice you’d give someone wanting to work for Vertu?📈

Where do you see yourself in five years?👩🏼‍💼
I’d love to be a Used Car Sales Manager within Vertu, continuing to develop my skills and helping others succeed along the way.

At 11 years young, this Jack Russell knows a thing or two about comfort, practicality, and travelling in style.

Polly popped into the showroom today to put the Discovery’s Pet Pack through its paces, and we’re pleased to report it passed with flying colours (and only a few paw prints 🐶).
