***Race day update from Hartech Senior Technician Ash, who is this year being assisted by another Hartech Technician, Will***
Belated post for the opening round of the Porsche Club Championship what a hectic start.
Issues with both cars during Friday testing had the team working until midnight, then back up at 5am to get them ready for qualifying. Both gearboxes were removed: Mark’s needed replacing along with the diff and crown wheel, while Jake’s required a new clutch plate and attention to an oil leak.
We got both cars out for qualifying, albeit a little late. Considering the challenges and it being Jake’s first run in the new car he put it on pole 💪🏻, while Mark struggled to get going and qualified 8th.
Race 1 started well with Jake leading, but a mistake ended his race early. Unfortunately, it was a similar story for Mark after a collision and a burst radiator, he had to retire. With plenty of work needed before Race 2, the team got straight back to it.
A strong finish to the weekend and a testament to the team’s hard work, Jake stormed to victory, and Mark fought back from 9th to take 3rd, snatching the final podium spot on the line.
Looking forward to the rest of the season, hopefully with a smoother run next time out at Snetterton 🤞🏻Great showing from the Hartech powered engines on the grid making up 90% of the top 10!!!!! 🏁🏁🍾🍾🏎️🏎️
