Please, stop and think.

Driving down the wrong side of a motorway is not a joke. It’s not “all fun and games.” And this TikTok trend is extremely dangerous. It is not worth a few views, likes or laughs.

Recently, there have been horrific incidents involving young people driving the wrong way on motorways — including incidents in Middlesbrough and Ireland. We have also seen the devastating loss of two police officers who were killed while responding to incidents on the road. Behind every tragedy are families who have to live with that loss for the rest of their lives.

You might think you’re having a bit of fun, showing off, taking part in a trend or trying to impress your friends. But imagine the phone call your mother, father, brother, sister or someone who loves you receives:

“There’s been an accident. Your child has been killed.”

Think about that moment. Think about the devastation. Think about the lives of innocent people travelling in the opposite direction who could be killed because of one reckless decision.

If you are a parent and you have a teenager who has recently passed their driving test, please, have a serious conversation with them. Talk to them about this TikTok trend and how dangerous it really is. Talk to them about peer pressure, showing off, chasing views and taking risks. Make sure they understand that a driving licence comes with enormous responsibility.

A motorway is not a playground. Cars are travelling at incredible speeds, and there is absolutely no room for mistakes.

It’s all fun and games until someone doesn’t make it home.

No TikTok video, no number of views, no amount of likes and no moment of showing off is worth a life.

Please think before you get behind the wheel. One stupid decision can change — or end — your life and the lives of complete strangers.

Don’t become a statistic. Don’t make your family receive that phone call. Get home safely.

Huge congratulations to Rachel on passing her driving test first time! 🎉🚗👏

Today wasn’t just a driving test—it was a battle with nerves. Rachel was incredibly anxious beforehand, and to make things even more challenging, she had to face busy rush hour traffic. Despite all of that, she kept her focus, trusted her training and managed to pass first time!

Passing first time is a brilliant achievement, especially under those conditions. I’m so proud of the determination and resilience Rachel showed today.
