Cuppa & Catch up

A lovely morning spent over a cuppa and a good old catch up at The Potting Shed, within Greenfingers Garden Centre 🪴🌸

There was plenty to tempt us on the breakfast menu, not to mention all those delicious sweet treats... 😋🍰

ladies, It's always so nice to have a proper catch up, put the world to rights and enjoy some time together ☺️💗

Good food, good company and lots of chat- what more could you ask for?
Now... where shall we go for the next one? ☕️

🍷Blossoms Wine Club goes 'out out! 🍷

Last night, six members of our Blossoms Wine Club headed to Chateau Nouveau (formerly Cavavin) in Newcastle for a fabulous Wine Tasting Experience.

We enjoyed four 75ml wines — a white, a rosé and two reds - with each one introduced separately. We learned a little about the 5 S's of wine tasting: see, swirl, sniff, sip and savour, as well as the terroir where each grape was grown and which foods paired best with each wine 🍇

Our wine expert Amy was an absolute joy! So knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer all of our questions - even the ones we probably should have known the answers to! 😆

And, of course, the evening didn't have to end there. Afterwards, we could enjoy another glass of any of the wines we'd tasted, or choose something completely different from their extensive selection of wines and spirits

Thanks to the ladies that came along, it was such a fun, relaxed evening in a beautiful and elegant setting. Plenty of laughter as usual and lots of talk about future Blossoms Wine Club evenings — including a possible Christmas Wine Tasting! Watch this space 👀

🍽️ Ladies Who Lunch 🍽️

Six of us enjoyed a lovely lunch today at Marina Vista in Sunderland. The menu was really extensive, with plenty of happy hour choices and reasonably priced drinks.
We all chose something different, and everyone enjoyed their meal. As always, there was plenty of chat &
lots of laughs 😆

A big thank you ladies for another lovely get-together. I'm already looking forward to our next lunch!

From its beginnings in 1915, the WI has been bringing women together, building friendships, learning new skills, supporting communities and campaigning for change.

🎉 Supper & Social – 80s Style! 🎉

Last night our Supper and Social evening was 80s themed . Six of us including our host Alyson, all bringing a selection of dishes that transported us straight back to our younger days! These included devilled eggs, vol au vents, spam fritters, Black Forest gateau and trifle to name just a few. All delicious and in abundance 😋

Some ladies went all out for an 80's look whilst others made some nods to that decade wearing bling, stirrup pants, large earrings and bold make up 💄

A Cryptic Pop Group quiz got us thinking with Ros being the most successful identifying 17 out of 20 groups. Well done Ros! 🥳

🎶 Some great 80's music played and there was lots of laughs and good conversation which made for a brilliant evening

Alyson's lovely dog Chester 🐶 joined in too, enjoying the extra fuss and a few treats.

Thank you Alyson and ladies for a lovely evening — great company, great food and lots of fun! 💕

Lots of fun at our September meeting trying Swingfit with Lucy 🎶💃🏻

💃🏻 What a busy, fun night we had at our September meeting 🎶

This month we welcomed Lucy from Swingfit, who shared her story of how she became an instructor before leading us through some fabulous routines, complete with dance steps and music from the swing era.
And you have some moves, ladies! Who knew? 😉💃🏻

After our fun workout, we had a little treat for everyone — Minchella’s ice creams all round 😋, complete with a flake and monkey’s blood (or raspberry sauce if you’re not from the area!). Very well deserved after all that dancing! 🍦

There were lots of names going down on our various sign-up sheets too. The latest is for an interest meeting for a Blossoms Craft Club, and I’m so excited about this one! 🌸✂️ Please see the photo for more details.

We also had the pleasure of handing over a £110 cheque to Fiona from Boldon and Cleadon Community Library. This was raised at our recent plant and garden sale, and we also returned their collection tin. We have no idea yet how much was in the tin, but I’ll keep you posted! 😊

A huge thank you to everyone who came along tonight. It was lovely to see so many of you dancing, singing along and enjoying the wonderful music. 🎶💃🏻

And a special thank you to our secretary Lynn for arranging Lucy’s visit, and to the rest of the committee for all their hard work — especially dishing out all those ice cream tubs! 😂🍦

We’re looking forward to a bit of fun and fitness tonight, luckily no experience necessary 😉

Lucy will start the session with a short intro, followed by a fun, accessible dance routine of around 30 minutes-about 40-45 minutes in total. And the best part? Everyone can join in, in whatever way feels most comfortable!Whether that's dancing, clapping, singing along, or simply sitting back and enjoying the music. No experience needed to take part.

As Lucy says ‘’With dance steps & music of the swing era, you'll forget you're exercising as you dance along!’’
