This Volvo XC90 made the rounds with a few other garages before ending up with us.

It all began with an alternator issue which meant the battery was not receiving the charge it should. The initial mechanic that carried out the work took the correct step of replacing the alternator, although unfortunately with the wrong alternator… This resulted in what now was an intermittent charging issue, this was further misdiagnosed by other garages as a battery drain problem.

These XC90s had two different charging systems depending on the model year, which meant two different types of alternator/voltage regulator, and you have to make sure that the correct one is installed as they are not interchangeable. As this part was already changed for a new one, it was overlooked by every other garage to double check if it is even the correct part.

We managed to source the correct genuine Bosch voltage regulator which resolved all of the customer’s electrical issues.

Best believe this was not the first case of this kind. This could have been a far cheaper repair had the customer come to us right away!

This Nissan Quashqai was suffering with a Parking Sensor System Fault that was stopping all parking sensors from working, both front and rear.

We efficiently narrowed down the fault down to a singular faulty parking sensor, replaced and faults cleared.

Customer was very happy it was an inexpensive repair!

This BMW 320d was suffering with all sorts of electrical faults, RPM gauge not working, sometimes struggling to start and the obvious fault lights on the dashboard.

Swiftly identified the ABS unit to be at fault, this was replaced for the customer, coded into the car and all the faults were gone!
