It’s been a while since I posted here and a lot has changed this year.

For now I’m running the business on my own and finding life extremely busy. So much so I don’t have the time to dedicate to the big project jobs and will be calling a halt to the resprays for now.

So one last project another Realm Heritage C Type.

Owner G has never built a kit before and literally had to buy spanner’s to get started. Four years of blood sweat and tears have gone into this build before it came to me ( no pressure then ) to put the finishing touch on, a coat of shiny British Racing Green paint.

All credit to G for a fantastic job, hard to believe your a first timer 😳

No sunshine and a packed yard so very difficult to get the photos I’d have liked today.

Simon so happy to be reunited with his now very shiny iconic car and has already been chatting with admirers when he stopped for a coffee on the journey home.

I’ll leave this now to air dry for an hour or so before I bake it. Then tomorrow I should be able to flat n polish this and paint the bonnet & boot lid.

That the basecoat colour on Simon’s Sierra cossie. 3 full and 2 drop coats ( drop coats are at a much lower pressure and lighter to get the aluminium particles to lay evenly) of Ford Flint Grey in Nexa Autocolour.

I’ll leave this to flash off now for 30mins to let the solvents evaporate before the lacquer goes on 🤞

After all the graft on Gary’s TVR respray last week you’d think we we’re due a rest, oh no!

This week it’s Simon’s turn with his awesome Sierra Sapphire Cosworth.

We’ve been grafting away at the prep on this one for a few weeks and now have everything ready to paint. Over the next week or so I hope to have it all painted and start the refit process.

Tomorrow I’ll start with the big bit and paint the car. Then we can gradually paint the panels and put them straight back on the car.

All masked and ready to go !

That’s Gary’s TreVoR all but done and looking fabulous 😎

Normally our clients are more than happy to leave us to do our job. However every now and then we come across a car builder who simply wants to do as much of the build themselves as possible.

Gary is a classic example of this having stripped this TVR back to its chassis and completely rebuilt it from there up. He expressed a keen interest to be as involved as possible in the paint process despite having no experience.

With a little guidance on the preparation and us carrying out the application Gary has achieved a remarkable result and should be very proud of himself 👏👏👏

Sierra Sapphire Cosworth Update


This project is coming along nicely now as I now have all the repairs completed and the whole job in primer.

Still a long way to go but not too long before the colour starts to go back on and we can put this iconic classic back together again.

Sierra cosworth update

We’re making good progress on the prep for Simons Sierra Sapphire Cosworth respray.

I’ve been slowly working my way around the car stripping out and prepping as I go. This can be a tedious task as lot of the fasteners are tight, seized or corroded and require patients to remove without breaking as do the plastics.

I’ve also replaced the inner and outer rear wheel arch on the drivers side as this had corroded beyond repair.

The prep work moves on to the front end next and the mountain of plastics, bumpers, spoilers, sill covers and grilles 😎
