Changes to driving test booking happening today. ⚠️

From today (9 June), if you move your driving test, you can only move it to one of the 3 nearest test centres to where it's currently booked.

This is the remaining change we committed to make by the end of Spring 2026:

📅 31 March — test changes limited to 2 per booking

🔒 12 May — only learners can book, change or cancel their own test

📍 9 June — test moves limited to 3 nearest centres

Since 12 May, we've suspended 3605 accounts for breaking the rules and reported apps to app stores for removal. We're not stopping there.

Congratulations and Well done to my lovely pupil Ayesha passing her test this morning in Gateshead with just 4 minors.
A very well deserved pass. Her hard work and dedication has paid off.
Always gave 100% every lesson.
Just over 3 months from start to finish.

A Special thanks to her Dad and Mother in Law for taking her out in between lessons to help her gain confidence on the road.

Double celebration for my Family today.
Took my Daughter through to Middlesbrough for her Theory Test, really proud that she passed with Flying Colours, done really well driving back home to Hartlepool too.

Well worth taking a few hours off from teaching today to attend this Coaching course on Zoom.

Throughly enjoyed it, learned so much.

Great advice and explanation from Support Driving School regarding recent changes to the booking process.

From today only the Learner themselves can legally book/swap their Driving Tests.

Please check with me before booking/swapping your Driving Test, just to make sure that I'm available to take you.

🚗 Learner drivers — important update about swapping driving tests

The DVSA has introduced new rules around swapping driving test bookings with another learner driver.

A test swap is not the same as changing your test date. It means you and another learner exchange your existing test slots.

Key things to know:

✅ From **12 May 2026**, only the learner can swap their own car driving test
❌ Driving instructors, websites or third parties cannot swap tests for you
📞 Swaps can only be done by phone through DVSA
🔁 A swap counts as **1 of your 2 allowed test changes**
📅 You must request the swap at least **10 full working days** before the earliest test
📍 From **9 June 2026**, location rules will also apply, meaning swaps will usually need to be with someone at the same test centre, one of your 3 nearest test centres, or the test centre you originally booked at

Before agreeing to a swap, please check with your instructor first. You need to make sure you are ready for the new date and that your instructor is available for the test centre, date and time.

Also, never share personal details like your driving licence number, address, phone number, email or card details with another learner.
