Here we have this truly magnificent 1938 Alvis 12/ 70 Anderson tourer (1 of 4 built)

Alvis factory records show that the rolling chassis of this Alvis AFX 222, was supplied to Hugh Anderson LTD London on 26th November 1938. Here the body was designed, it was then hand built by Whittingham and Mitchell, London. It was then returned to Alvis factory in Coventry on the 3rd January 1939.
Only four of these type of bodies were built and 3 still exist main difference being helmet wings and no running boardsshe was restored to concourse condition by peter smith of smith and cave Blandford and is still in immaculate condition
The Alvis has remained in the same family for almost fifty years and maintained to a high standard. Red Triangle Auto Services has carried out maintenance for the last two years (invoices for this phase included in the file total in excess of £3000) and the motor car has been regularly MOT tested. Full weather equipment, including a tonneau cover and side screens, are supplied; the specially designed aero screens act as side wind deflectors and an Alvis eagle mascot and town radiator cap are also included in the sale.
Designated as SC13. 22, the 12/ 70 is supplied with an original instruction book and lubrication chart.
