🚨 Trailer / Horsebox Safety Check – Don’t Judge by Appearances! 🚨

A horsebox came into Strathmore Trailers today for a pre-season check over — and it’s a good job it did.🐴

On inspection we found:🧐
• Brake linings either completely detached or peeling away
• Brake cables worn through and seized
• Lighting fault

From the outside, it looked perfectly fine. But underneath told a very different story.

As we head into the busy season, don’t assume your horsebox or any trailer is roadworthy just because it looks good. The parts you can’t see are often the most important for safety.

A routine inspection could prevent a breakdown — or worse.

Book your check before you tow. Your horses, your vehicle, and other road users depend on it.

🎅 Santa came early for this customer! 🎄
After bringing their trailer in for a service, our inspection uncovered a few major faults. Once we priced up the repairs and spoke with the customer, it made far more sense to invest in a brand-new trailer instead.
A huge thank you to D.R Alexander & Son for sourcing the new trailer so quickly. We then collected it and delivered it straight to the customer — hassle-free from start to finish!

🚨 Call-Out: Failed Wheel Bearing – No Time Wasted! 🚨
We were recently called out to a sheep shearing trailer that had suffered a wheel bearing failure — right in the middle of a busy shed. 🐑💨
As you can see from the damage 👇 (📸 first image), that bearing was well and truly finished. But no downtime here — we got stuck in and removed and replaced it on-site, right there in the shearing shed (📸 second image).
