**NISSAN 350Z πŸπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅**

In the workshop with us recently, we’ve had this V6 J*p beast in for some attention πŸ‘€πŸ‘Œ

Suffering from a whining rear end, as well as being booked in for one of our services.

After some investigation and a chat with our customer, it was decided to replace **both rear wheel bearings** at the same time.

Various components needed to be removed to gain access to the front and rear of the hubs, allowing us to remove the old wheel bearings.

Once the bearing/hub assemblies were removed from the vehicle, it was over to our **bearing press** to separate the two. Thankfully, we have a large bearing press in the workshop, as one of these units certainly put up a fight and took a serious amount of force to separate! πŸ’ͺ

With everything apart, all surfaces were thoroughly cleaned before the new bearings were pressed onto the hubs. The hub and bearing assemblies were then refitted to the vehicle, with the rear end built back up and all components torqued correctly to specification.

Happy with the wheel bearings, the 350Z then went through one of our **Interim Services** before being road tested.

And we’ve got to say… **these 350Zs really do sound amazing! πŸ‘ŒπŸ”₯**

Another job completed and another happy customer back on the road πŸ‘

**VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN 4MOTION R-LINE**

In the workshop recently, we had this very clean 4MOTION Tiguan R-Line in with us for some important preventative maintenance. πŸ‘Œ

The timing belt is a vital part of any vehicle’s service schedule, and failure can result in significant engine damage and an expensive repair bill.

Our customer opted for a **full Genuine Volkswagen timing belt and water pump package**, which we supplied and fitted.

Being a 2022 model, there are a few more components that need to be removed to gain access to the timing belt and water pump, with many of these being emissions-related components.

Once everything was stripped down, the engine was correctly timed and all components were prepared for installation. The water pump sealing surfaces were thoroughly cleaned before fitting all the new Genuine Volkswagen parts, including:

πŸ”§ Timing belt
πŸ”§ Timing belt guides
πŸ”§ Water pump with sensor
πŸ”§ Tensioner
πŸ”§ Relevant hardware
πŸ”§ New stretch bolts

With everything built back up, it was time for fresh coolant, as included with all of our timing belt & water pump packages.

The correct bleeding procedure was then carried out using specialist diagnostic equipment, which is required on these modern vehicles to ensure the cooling system is properly bled.

Once we were happy with everything, the vehicle was taken for a thorough road test to confirm all was operating as it should, followed by a final check of all fluid levels.

Another job completed properly, with the right parts and the correct procedures. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘

**MODIFICATIONS & CUSTOM TUNING!**

In the workshop recently for our **Milltek Sport exhaust & custom tuning package** πŸ“¦πŸ‘Œ

There are plenty of options available from Milltek Sport for this platform, with our customer opting for a **full cat-back, non-resonated system**, complete with **valved back boxes and chrome polished tips** πŸ‘€πŸ‘Œ

To make the most of the improved airflow from the new Milltek system, we carried out a **full custom ECU calibration on the dyno**, with some fantastic results!

**STOCK:**
349 BHP & 369 FT/LBS

**MODIFICATIONS & CUSTOM CALIBRATION:**
πŸ”₯ **412 BHP & 461 FT/LBS**

That's an increase of **63 BHP & 92 FT/LBS of torque!** πŸ‘Œ

Fantastic results, especially while dealing with the recent hot weather.

The test drive was certainly an exciting one, with the **V6 sound coming through the new exhaust system** and the additional power and torque giving the S4 fantastic driveability throughout the entire rev range.

**VOLKSWAGEN GOLF TDI πŸš—πŸ’¨**

In the workshop recently, we had this 2.0 TDI Golf come in after a long journey with a **slipping and noisy clutch**.

Luckily, the customer managed to get it to us before total failure. Straight onto the ramp and the strip-down began πŸ”§.

Once removed, we found the bell housing full of clutch material and dust, so a good clean-up was required before fitting the new components.

With everything cleaned up, it was time to fit a **new dual-mass flywheel, new bolts/hardware, clutch and concentric slave cylinder** πŸ‘. Everything fitted and torqued correctly to specification.

This particular vehicle is also fitted with a **self-adjusting clutch**, which requires an additional fitment procedure to ensure everything is set up correctly.

Once rebuilt, fresh clutch fluid was added and the clutch system bled through before carrying out our final checks.

A final road test confirmed everything was working as it should before handing the Golf back to its owner, ready to continue the miles πŸ‘Œ.

Another job completed . πŸ”§βœ…

πŸ”§ **SKODA FABIA VRS – MECHATRONICS REPLACEMENT** πŸ”§

In the workshop recently we had this **Skoda Fabia 1.4 TSI VRS** in with a rather interesting gearbox issue.

The customer was experiencing a **flashing gear indicator, various mechatronics faults and the issue gradually getting worse over time.**

After carrying out a full diagnostic session and identifying the fault, it was time to look at the repair options available.

After a chat with our customer, the decision was made to fit a **brand-new genuine mechatronics unit**.

This is not a straightforward job, with specialist tools required for various components throughout both the strip-down and rebuild. πŸ‘€

We got to work by draining the gearbox oil and stripping down the required components to gain as much access as possible to the mechatronics unit.

With the gearbox correctly positioned, specific tools were fitted to keep both clutch sets securely in position before the old unit could be removed.

Next came a thorough clean-up of all sealing surfaces and components before the new unit was installed.

With all the gear actuators not set in any particular position, the **vernier calipers came out** to measure and correctly set each actuator down to the **millimetre**. πŸ“

Once everything had been double-checked and the new seals were in place, the new mechatronics unit was carefully fitted into position.

All bolts were then installed using the **specific torque settings required**, particularly for the aluminium bolts. πŸ”©

With everything reassembled, new gearbox oil was added. The mechatronics unit itself uses a separate oil, which is supplied and filled from the factory.

Then it was time to get the laptop out! πŸ’»

The new unit required the correct **coding and adaptation process**, including adaptations for both the mechatronics unit and clutches.

And the process doesn't stop once it's off the ramp…

A further adaptation procedure was carried out **on the road**, followed by a thorough road test to make sure everything was operating exactly as it should. πŸš—πŸ’¨

βœ… All happy with the gearbox operation
βœ… Road test completed
βœ… Full service carried out
βœ… MOT completed

Another job completed and another vehicle returned to its owner ready to go! πŸ‘

πŸš— **MERCEDES-BENZ CLE 53 AMG** πŸ‘€πŸ‘Œ

Straight from the **Mercedes-Benz** forecourt and into our workshop for its **very first modification**... with **less than 200 miles on the clock!** πŸ”₯

This stunning CLE 53 AMG was booked in with us for the installation of a **remote exhaust valve control system**, allowing the driver to open or close the exhaust valves at the touch of a button for the perfect soundtrack whenever they choose. 🎡

To ensure a factory-quality installation, we stripped down the boot compartment to discreetly hide the main control module before routing all wiring underneath the vehicle. Both rear underbody panels were then removed, allowing us to neatly run the wiring behind the exhaust heat shields and connect it to each exhaust valve actuator.

With everything installed, we carried out full operational testing and final checks before refitting all panels and covers, leaving the vehicle looking exactly as it arrivedβ€”but sounding even better! 😎

Another happy customer collecting their pride and joy, ready to enjoy every drive. πŸ‘

**VOLKSWAGEN CADDY** πŸ‘Œ

In the workshop recently we had this very clean Volkswagen Caddy TDI in for some preventative maintenance, along with a fresh set of wheels and tyres. πŸ‘€

The vehicle was booked in for a timing belt replacement, which is one of the most important maintenance jobs on these engines. Leaving it beyond the recommended service interval can result in significant engine damage and a very expensive repair bill.

Once on the ramp, we began stripping the front of the engine down to gain access to the timing belt and correctly lock and time the engine using the proper specialist tools.

During the strip down, we noticed excessive oil contamination on the front of the engine, running down behind the timing cover and over the sump. Oil contamination on a timing belt is never a good sign and can significantly reduce the life of the belt.

With the timing belt already removed, it made perfect sense to replace the leaking front crankshaft seal and housing while everything was accessible.

With everything stripped down, including the crank hub and front crankshaft seal assembly, all components were thoroughly cleaned before reassembly.

A new crankshaft seal and housing, water pump, timing belt, tensioner, idlers and all associated hardware were fitted. The engine was then correctly timed, double-checked, rebuilt and filled with fresh coolant.

Next came the first start-up and coolant bleeding procedure. On these newer VAG vehicles, we use VCDS (VAG-COM) to carry out the correct coolant bleeding process. This activates the auxiliary coolant pumps and ensures all air is removed from the cooling system, including the charge cooler circuit.

Once we were happy everything was operating exactly as it should, we fitted the brand-new wheels and tyres, along with spigot rings and new wheel bolts to finish the job off. πŸ‘Œ

Preventative maintenance is always far cheaper than repairing the damage caused by component failure.

**Not sure if your timing belt is due?** Send us a message and we'll be happy to check and advise. πŸ‘

🚐 **VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER** 🚐

In with us recently was this converted T5 camper with a big issue.

Unfortunately, the timing belt preventative maintenance schedule hadn't been kept up to date. The timing belt failed, shearing many teeth from the belt itself – check out the photos to see the damage.

After our initial investigation and with the customer's go-ahead, we started stripping the engine down to find the full extent of the damage.

There was extensive top-end damage, including all 8 valves and valve guides (which were very difficult to extract), along with wear on various other components. It was decided that the best option was to fully refresh the cylinder head.

Next came the clean-up. All components were thoroughly cleaned and de-coked. Check out the intake manifold and EGR passages before and after – there was a huge amount of carbon build-up removed.

A full new set of top-end gaskets was fitted, along with a head bolt upgrade using PD150 head bolts while we were in there. This also leaves the potential for the vehicle to be mapped with a little more boost in the future. πŸ‘Œ

A genuine Volkswagen timing belt and water pump kit was fitted, along with all new hardware, including genuine injector stretch bolts.

Once everything was reassembled, the engine was filled with fresh oil, a new oil filter, and fresh coolant before the initial start-up.

On the very first turn of the key, the Transporter fired back into life after arriving with us on the recovery truck. πŸ’ͺ

After several heat cycles, final checks, and topping up fluid levels where required, it was time for a thorough road test before handing the vehicle back to another happy customer. πŸ‘

⚠️ **Timing belts are preventative maintenance for a reason.** Replacing them on schedule is far cheaper than repairing the damage caused by a failure. If you're unsure when yours is due, get in touch and we'll be happy to advise.

πŸš—β„οΈ **AIR-CON NITROGEN LEAK TESTING – Now Available in Our Workshop!** β„οΈπŸš—

With the warmer weather finally here 🌞, many drivers are switching their air conditioning on for the first time in months... only to find it's not blowing cold air!

We've seen a big increase in A/C faults recently, and one of the most common causes is a leak in the system.

**What is a Nitrogen Leak Test?**

Instead of filling your system with expensive refrigerant, we use oxygen-free nitrogen (OFN) to safely pressurise the A/C system. This allows us to pinpoint leaks quickly and accurately before carrying out any repairs.

βœ… Safe and effective leak detection
βœ… Helps identify hidden A/C faults
βœ… Saves wasting refrigerant

We also offer **in-house air conditioning servicing** for both **R1234YF** and **R134A** systems.

πŸ’· **Nitrogen Leak Test: Β£40 + VAT**

**Is your air conditioning not as cold as it should be?** Drop us a message, give us a call, or comment belowβ€”we're happy to answer any questions and get your A/C working properly again before the hot weather really arrives! πŸŒžβ„οΈ
