VW BEETLE

In the workshop recently we have had this fully wrapped Vw Beetle Tsi.

Straight onto our ramp for a service & inspection.
With a full inspection of all brakes, suspension, engine, gearbox and safety systems.
All levels topped up (screen wash, coolant, power steering etc if needed) along with tyre pressures adjusted. Which we find many people overlook.

Once happy onto the m.o.t which passed with flying colours πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘.

When was your vehicle last serviced? Send us a message to get booked in.

Everything on our list ticked off and service light re-set, the vehicle was ready for some more miles.

Before returning to our customer, it was booked in next door Devils Of Detail for a full valet πŸ‘Œ before collection by a very happy customer πŸ˜€.

AUDI A1

In the workshop recently we have had this clean tdi A1 in for some Preventative maintenance.

New to our customer and no record of timing belt having been changed. It was booked in with us for a full new belt kit, waterpump and full service.

The strip down began of many components to gain access to all the timing belt and guides. On first inspection it did look like the belt had been done at some point. With whoever had done the job not having the correct tools and marking up the pulleys πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. This of course was not correct way and the timing was not correct.

After the old belt was removed we managed to insert our timing pins after some adjustments. Old waterpump out and the block cleaned up ready for all the new components.

Brand new waterpump, all guides, tensioner and of course all new hardware (stretch bolts included) fitted.
Once checked and timing verified it was time to build the vehicle up.
Some fresh coolant and the system was all bled up and checked.

Before the test drive a full service was carried out on the vehicle. Service light re-set and a quick drive out to check everything was ok before going back to our customer πŸ‘ .

FORD FIESTA

In the workshop recently we have had this really clean example of a 1.4 litre fiesta.

Preventative maintenance time, unsure of the last timing belt replacement and rightfully not taking the risk on this. Lack of this type of maintenance can end up in costly repairs.

With this engine running floating pulleys (both camshafts and crankshaft) special tools required to set and lock the timing in the correct positions.
Due to this all new hardware must be replaced, the main bolts stretch bolts (one time use only) being swapped for new and the correct torque settings is a must.

Once everything was stripped down a full clean up was undertaken, including the removal of the old waterpump gasket.

Brand new waterpump, gasket and bolts fitted. The new timing belt, tensioner and hardware all fitted and timed up.

Build.up time and the job includes the rocker cover to be removed on this engine and a brand new rocker cover gasket was supplied and fitted to make sure no oil leaks afterwards πŸ‘.

Start up with some fresh coolant and the system bled up, it was time for a quick test drive before returning to our customer πŸ˜€ πŸ‘

MITSUBISHI EVO 6

In the workshop recently we have had this stunning evo previously modified and tuned πŸ‘Œ.

A issue with selecting 3/4th gear and this issue slowly getting worse and a light oil leak from the driveshaft seals.

After our initial investigation and a chat with our customer it was decided to go all out and remove the gearbox for strip down and repairs.

The big strip down began with removing many components to gain access to the gearbox. Exhaust system, prop shaft, transfer box, various boost pipes and many more items required to be removed.

Once removed and stripped down, the gearbox had brand new 3rd/4th selector fork, 3rd/4th sleeve, 3rd gear full synchro and of course a complete new bearing kit. To finish it off the full casings vapour blasted and cleaned πŸ‘Œ.

The gearbox and all components built back up with some new driveshaft seals.
The gearbox then filled with millers motorsport gear oil before running on the ramp to double check for any issues/ leaks.

Once happy a extended test drive undertaken to make sure everything was 100%.

Check out pics πŸ“Έ below. Gearbox βš™οΈ looking like new and driving like new πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

VW GOLF R

In the workshop recently we have had this manual 2.0 Golf R.

MAINTENANCE TIME πŸ‘Œ

Often overlooked we advise a Haldex Service every 20 - 40,000 miles.
Please note, unlike some haldex services.
We not only change the oil, but we also pull the haldex pumps out for a thourough clean both in the chamber and we also remove and clean the little mesh filter fixed to the pump. (Please see photos πŸ“Έ)
You can clearly see the deposits gathered up.

Once all cleaned up, built back up and fresh oil. A small running procedure taking place before a final level check and inspection.

Keeping on the maintenance side the vehicle was also booked in for a new PCV valve (positive crankcase ventilation valve) and set of spark plugs. A couple of tight plugs to be removed, but other than that no issues. All threads cleaned up before new plugs gapped and tightened to spec πŸ‘Œ

Once happy and the vehicle warmed up, it was time for a quick test drive before returning to our customer.

VW TRANSPORTER

In the workshop recently, we have had this clean Bi-turbo 2.0 tdi.

Scheduled maintenance time.

Full DSG service:
Using genuine VW parts.
DSG oil, oil.filter, sealing ring and plug washer.

There is a set procedure for the service, including specific tools and diagnostics equipment to perform the service correctly.

Many people overlook a dsg/s-tronic service which can lead to costly repairs.

When was yours last done?

While the van was in with us we also performed a full service.
Engine oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and pollen filter.
All levels carried out including screen washer fluid, tyre pressure and any top ups required with powersteering fluid, brake fluid etc.

A full inspection carried out of all major components. With this being a well maintained vehicle by ourselves and a regular customer who keeps on top of the vehicle.
No further work advised πŸ‘.

A test drive performed after all the work to confirm full functionality from the gearbox and smooth operation

MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER

Recently in the workshop we have had this mercedes benz camper.

Returning home from a trip away the van started making some odd noises and vibrations.

A quick test drive and inspection from the team, discovered a faulty clutch/dual mass flywheel.

With the go ahead from.our customer it was onto the ramp to start the strip down. Various components all removed to gain access to remove the gearbox. The hardest part splitting the bell housing from the engine due to two corroded dowl pins.

Once removed we could clearly see/feel the faulty components. Everything was cleaned up before fitting a brand new dual mass flywheel, with new bolts and also a complete 3 piece clutch kit.

Extra cleaning and l**e on the down pins to have a easier time locating the gearbox back in position.
Once happy the vehicle was built back up.

A final start up and test drive undertaken with no nasty noises or vibrations πŸ‘.
Back on the road for many more miles to come.

AUDI TT

In the workshop recently we have had this already modified and mapped quattro tt.

M.O.T time and previous inspection found weeping on the rear shock absorbers. It was time for some performance parts to be fitted πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘.

Suspension upgrade time, Bilstein shock absorbers along with a full Suspension service kit. This includes top mounts, bump stops and gaiters, for both front and rear.

Previously fitted front braided brake lines, it was now the perfect time to complete the set with some EBC rear braided brake lines.
Due to the age we struggled to remove the old units, but with some extra work/components removed and some heat helping we soon got the new lines looking well and secured in place.

Using ATE high performance brake fluid to flush and bleed the brake system. This fluid has higher boiling points and is often used for endurance and track -days

A quick final inspection before a successful test drive and straight through its m.o.t

Back to our customer to enjoy πŸ‘
